Little Bear Audio CD Collection: Little Bear, Father Bear Comes Home, Little Bear's Friend, Little Bear's ... 3 reviews Else Holmelund Minarik
HarperChildrensAudio, 2007
Little Bear Audio CD Collection Little Bear is a favorite TV show for some of my grandchildren. This CD lets them enjoy the stories when they are in the car, or just to listen to the CD at bedtime. The reader has a wonderful voice and it is very soothing and relaxing to fall asleep while listening. I recommend this CD for children from ages 3 to 10.

3779 - Wild Things Growth Chart 7 reviews Maurice Sendak
Peaceable Kingdom Press, 2006
Absolutely adorable! This growth chart is great! It's a lot heavier-duty than I had expected - kind of like the the cover of a children's hardcover book. It will definitely hold up in a little wild thing's room! :)

Little Bear (An I Can Read Book) 28 reviews Elsa Holmelund Minarik
Harper Trophy, 1957
Playful stories about a little bear cub Little Bear, first published in 1957, is a true classic in children's literature. The book is about a bear cub who is a good friend to Owl, Cat, Hen, Duck and Emily, the little girl who visits in the summer. Elsa Holmelund Minarik and Maurice Sendak teamed up to create these stories. The stories are filled with quiet humor, affection and imagination as Little Bear and his friends celebrate ...

The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss 18 reviews Theodor Geisel
Random House, 1995
Geisel was truly an artist, as can be seen in this collection Ted Geisel, more widely known as Dr. Seuss, was a consummate writer and illustrator. His children's books have sold millions of copies; it is a near certainty that few children grow up in the United States without being exposed to Seuss books. This book contains some of Seuss's art that has not had a great deal of exposure. Most are paintings, although there are some works of three-dimensional ...

A Kiss for Little Bear (An I Can Read Book) 9 reviews Else Holmelund Minarik
Harper & Row, 1968
ONE OF MY FAVORITE LITTLE BEAR BOOKS I felt the art work in this one was probably some of the best in the series and I did love the story. The story is simple, Little Bear sends a picture to his grandmother and it is taken to her by Hen. Grandmother, upon reciept of the picture wants to pass along a kiss to Little Bear. The kiss is passed from animal to animal until Little Bear receives his gandmothers kiss via the Hen. The ...

Sing A Song Of Popcorn: Every Child's Book Of Poems 5 reviews

An excellent resource for elementary teachers :) I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of poetry and the beautiful illustrations which accompany. As a kindergarten teacher, I found the anthology to be an invaluable resource for introducing young children (or any children) to the world of poetry. :

Brundibar (New York Times Best Illustrated Books (Awards)) 8 reviews Tony Kushner
Michael Di Capua Books, 2003
Another Gift from Maurice Sendak My six-year-old home-schooled son is picky when it comes to books. He loves "Where the Wild Things Are" so I checked this out of the library. We read it at least a dozen times before it had to be returned and he keeps talking about it. The words roll off the tongue, though the story has that dark element (like Roald Dahl's stories) that challenges your own comfort . The pictures are a feast. And ...

Wonderful stories all children should read This is a set of books that is perfect for children to read. Innocent, heart warming, and charming, Little Bear is a series that your young child will love to read again and again. Also, if your child loves the Little Bear series as much as mine do, there are dvds of episodes from the tv show based on these books that they would love as well.

Chicken Soup with Rice: A Book of Months 40 reviews
HarperTrophy, 1991
A Gem of a Book This is a wonderful little book. I loved it 40 years ago and my twins love it now. They enjoy helping me finish each month by singing "... chicken soup with rice!"
The cute drawings add to the fun -- but be warned, one of them is very un-PC! We're not in 1962 any more, Toto.

J2 - Wild Thing Blank Journal 3 reviews Maurice Sendak
Peaceable Kingdom Press, 2003
Great Journal I hesitated to buy this book because the previous review said that the paper quality was poor, but it was so cute that I went ahead and bought it anyway...and really, I have been very pleased with it. I am a big fan of journals made by Paperblanks and Flavia, and while the paper in this book may not be quite up to their standards, it is quite nice. I generally use a felt-tip pen in my journals, ...

I enjoyed this book all over again! Where the Wild Things Are was one of my very favorite books as a child. My nieces and nephew live in Mexico, so I bought this book for them. I cannot remember how many times I read it sitting on the couch with them in my lap. They loved it and I loved it. Very well translated and as always a joy to read.
Highly recommended!
