A very readable introduction to developmental economics.
Todaro in this book presents what is quite possibly the easiest to understand introduction to developmental economics that the world has to offer. He does not provide quick answers but a logical and well thought out conception of the complexities of the problems in a format that although not wholly excluding mathmatics, uses it only in appendixes, etc. to explain problems-- which leaves the ...

Pastor
This is an excellent premarital counseling book. This is a great study for any couple who is looking to get married. This book makes you asks questions about how you would respond to circumstances you might think you would never be faced with. It will give you a good understanding of what a God centered marriage should be. The only down fall is that it doesn't speak specifically to couples ...

Solid textbook
This is a solid thermo textbook. Goes over concepts and theories fairly well. There are plenty of worked out examples throughout the chapters and appendixes so you know what you're doing. The authors explain everything in a clear and cohesive manner. Somethings are overwhelming, but it is thermodynamics. Plenty of appendixes for steam tables, interroplation, unit conversions, and virial equation ...

The Psychology Of The Sacred
This book serves as a good introduction to Jungian psychology as it pertains to shamanism and direct religious experience of the sacred. It also explores how shamanism may be useful in healing dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality). My primary interest is in visionary experiences and waking dreams. I've mainly tried to explore the subject in terms of poetic reverie or ...

Historical Geology Lab Manual
I've taught Historical Geology labs from this manual starting with the third edition. I believe that this is one of the better lab texts on the subject but I hear the same complaints from students using the seventh edition that I heard from those using the third - "How are we supposed to interpret the information contained in these poor quality black-and-white photographs that typically lack a ...

Great book!
In my line of work with SGML, the transition into XML comes pretty natural and with that the notion of "Hey, there is really a lot of cool stuff one can achieve with this!". Especially when you add XUL, XBL, RDF, and JavaScript/DOM to this. Thats where this book comes in really handy. The chapters are laid out pretty well and don't require a lot of experience with XML, although some basic ...

Good resource, very relevant to problem solving
This book is full of valuable information, and something that I believe I can use for my team of Java developers on our projects. I have enjoyed this entire book, but here are my comments on a few of my favorite "articles" from this book. #1 - When Runtime.exec() won't. An excellent 13 page discussion of how things can go wrong with the famous Runtime.exec(). There are so many ways to mess up ...
Jung and Shamanism in Dialogue
C. Michael Smith
Trafford Publishing
, 2007
In this highly original study, C. Michael Smith draws on phenomenological resources and hermeneutic dialogue to explore the affinities and distinctions between shamanism and Jungian psychology, both rooted ultimately in a heart-centered way if life, and both having highly intricate maps of the human psychic interiors. As the reader adventures through this book he or she will encounter shamanic initiation, dismemberments, disassociation, grief, ...

Absolutly the Best book on VBScript and ActiveX out there!
I work for Microsoft, and use VBScript daily. I have a dozen or so books that I used to reference while doing web design. Now I have everything I need in one book. While most books try to cover it all, this book gives a brief overview and then gets right to the meat of the subject. If you are a complete beginner try another source. For everyone else, this is it!

Fantasy Portraits Based on Headlines in Personal Ads
The concept behind this book is unique in my experience. Mr. Smith read many personals ads offered by people looking for companionship. He then contacted those who had placed the ads, and offered to do a fantasy portrait of them based on the description in the ad. This book contains the actual photographs of the people behind the ads along with the ads themselves. The perspective is a ...
