Rhinoceros Tap: 15 Seriously Silly Songs (Book & CD)41 reviews
Sandra Boynton

Workman Publishing Company, 2004

Seriously Silly is an Understatement
These children's songs are upbeat and good for play time. The production qualities are high, as usual with Boynton CDs, and much thought went into the selection of the silly lyrics. Maybe not as much fun as Grunt (a bed time favorite at our house), or Philadelphia Chickens, the children have had a lot of fun with moving to this music.

The Dance of Life: Weaving Sorrows And Blessings into One Joyful Step4 reviews
Henri J. M. Nouwen, Michael Ford

Ave Maria Press, 2006

Life-Changing
This book changed my life. I was so engrossed that I read it in the course of one very intense day - a day filled with insights, with a sense of wonder and beauty and of God's all-sustaining love. It is a book that I will keep returning to for many years. This is the sort of book that I want to buy a thousand copies of to hand out at street corners. Especially poignant are Nouwen's insights ...

Blue Moo: 17 Jukebox Hits From Way Back Never33 reviews
Sandra Boynton

Workman Publishing Company, 2007

Great listening for all ages!
Although I purchased this for my 9 year old daughter who loves the song sung by Davey Jones, "Personal Penguin," everyone loved the music. The 65 year-old-grandparents, the fifty-something neighbors, and the twenty-something babysitter were all listening to it and picking personal favorites. This is something for the whole family to enjoy.

The Fire of Ares: Spartan Quest2 reviews
Michael Ford

Walker Books for Young Readers, 2008

Great, quick read, no sequel?
I liked this book very much, though it isn't very long or advanced. It has a very open ending so i was just wondering if there's a sequel out there. Don't know but I'd get it if there were.

Dog Train: A Wild Ride on the Rock-and-Roll Side (Book & CD)66 reviews
Sandra Boynton

Workman Publishing Company, 2005

Grows on you! My son's now all time favorite CD.
My son (age 3) got this for Christmas from his Aunt. The first time I listened to it, I hated it and put it away. I couldn't believe my sister got it for him. After a few months we took it out and gave it a second shot. We actually listened to the whole thing this time and discovered some really good songs on it. I was a little turned off because the first song is about someone who cries No, ...

Do-able Differentiation: Varying Groups, Texts, and Supports to Reach Readers1 review
Michael P. Ford

Heinemann, 2008

Differentiation not new
Do-Able Differentiation held no new information for me. I was disappointed to find that the description of lessons were just renamed ideas that have been in use for years.

Matthew G. Rosenberger, Publisher, ABC Philadelphia: Travel Guides for Kids
After recently purchasing another copy of this to give as a birthday gift I am reminded of how much our family has enjoyed these songs over the years. As a child, I remember listening to Free to be You and Me and I believe Philadelphia Chickens belongs in the same category-it is creative and fun-it is a classic!

Changing Tides13 reviews
Michael Thomas Ford

Kensington, 2008

Michael Thomas Ford/John Steinbeck almost one in the same !
I have read all of the work of Michael Thomas Ford. This piece was different from what he has written in the past and it is a welcome diversion (not that his other stuff was disappointing in any way). I have given five stars to most everything else I have read by MTF. The storyline here doesn't really focus on the main character, Ben, being gay, but rather it focuses more on his relationship with ...

The Rough Guide to Egypt 6 (Rough Guide Travel Guides)6 reviews
Dan Richardson, Daniel Jacobs, ...

Rough Guides, 2005

Saves money big time
I went to Egypt in February 2006 with my wife and our two boys (5 and 2.5 years). Although we took a package tour to Hurghada, we actually overnighted there only three nights of the eleven we were in Egypt. The rest we spent moving around (Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, busses, train, cruise ship, jeep). For the whole trip we spent around 1000 USD plus the package. We could have easily spent twice as ...

Dog Train CD: And 16 Other Improbable Songs5 reviews
Sandra Boynton, Michael Ford

Workman Publishing Company, 2006

Great Music and Book!
My 6 yr old and 4 yr old girls LOVE this CD/book combination. The music is fun, the book is colorful. As an adult, this is the best kids music I've heard. Often times I find myself singing the songs without the kids around.

Father Mychal Judge: An Authentic American Hero8 reviews
Michael Ford

Paulist Press, 2002

Authentic is the right word.
Some people might be put-off because this book deals honestly with a priest who struggled with his sexuality and with church teachings AND lived a life in service to God and neighbor. However, this book looks honestly and authentically at the life of Fr. Mychal Judge. Clearly the love of God shone through this man, and clearly the teachings of the Catholic hierarchy are not always the teachings ...

Ultimate Gay Sex14 reviews
Michael Thomas Ford

DK ADULT, 2004

Absolute Beautiful and will help you find someone *chuckle*
This book is so beautiful and the images so artistically done and enticing it's worth it for that alone. The information is clear and easy about homosexuality as a whole, tho not a kama sutra or for those only interested in sex. The killer is this book is large and the cover and rear with such large and tasteful images between men it can be read many places letting others know you're gay in a ...

The Ten Thousand: A Novel of Ancient Greece85 reviews
Michael Curtis Ford

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 2002

Great story
Well written account of the ten thousand, for his first book it is quite good. I thought that the book did not need the love story angle, but other than that I loved it. Very graphic and detailed battle scenes, and good characters.A must read for historical fiction fans of greece

Full Circle23 reviews
Michael Thomas Ford

Kensington, 2007

Full Circle
When a story hits home, then that's the making of great literature. The characters are in their prime of life, learning to cope as they grow olders. Mistakes are made, but can be overcome. Excellent reading.

The Last King: Rome's Greatest Enemy28 reviews
Michael Curtis Ford

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 2005

Rome's Greatest Enemy
Rome had seen many enemies throughout its history. Many had tried and all had failed against the might of the Roman legions, a force that at that period in history was better equipped, better drilled and led by men who for probably the first time in history were tactically aware. Some of the great forces they had clashed with were the Goths, the Huns and of course Hannibal, but their greatest ...

The Sword of Attila: A Novel of the Last Years of Rome23 reviews
Michael Curtis Ford

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 2006

It's Called Historical FICTION For A Reason
I can't believe all of the negative comments directed at this fine novel by people decrying it's lack of historical authenticity. What ever happened to the idea of "artistic license"? If a reader is desiring truthful history, I'd suggest that they look in the Non-Fiction section instead of the Fiction section. This book can and should be enjoyed for what it is instead of what it is not. I've read ...

Looking For It16 reviews
Michael Thomas Ford

Kensington, 2005

Searching
I found that Looking for it has a meaning behind it. I mean is Mike the main character was lost and he found what made him happy and you could say this connects with every day life. I really enjoyed the book and how Ford Created the characters its was great and it deals with situations that homosexuals face. For an the way people react seeing the same sex together and this case i felt that you ...

The Fall of Rome: A Novel of a World Lost11 reviews
Michael Curtis Ford

St. Martin's Minotaur, 2008

IMPECCABLE
Just when you thought you knew the history of the fall of Rome, Michael Ford still manages to surprise you. Who would have guessed how ironically the most fearsome conqueror of the old world died? Who would have imagined that such an austere people as the Huns held improvident and absurdly lavish burial ceremonies for their fallen king? Who would have thought that such an obscure race as the ...
