Bomp!: Saving the World One Record at a Time4 reviews
Suzy Shaw, Mick Farren

Ammo Books, 2007

Consider It Saved
'Bomp: Saving The World One Record At A Time' is much more than just the chronicle of a small, independent record label. It's also part cultural history, part sociological study, part "how to" (or "how not to") guide to running a record label, part scrapbook, part family album, and part rock journalism anthology. Between the pages of this marvelous book is nothing less than an alternate history ...

The CIA Files Secrets of "The Company"4 reviews
Mick Farren

Diane Pub Co, 1999

Worthwhile to Get and Keep
I purchased this book several years ago and just got around to reading it. It did not dissappoint me. It is a great summary of the CIA and all the scandalous activities it has been involved in. There are more books published that give more in depth information on each of the topics, but this one is a great overview of the entire thing. The really great thing is that it also has an index ...

Kindling (Flame of Evil)6 reviews
Mick Farren

Tor Science Fiction, 2006

A nice beginning...
...to what seems to be another multi-part series. Now usually, I avoid series like the plague until they're finished (who wants to wait four years between books?), but this one snared my interest. Now, while I agree with the reviewer below and his critique of Harriet Klausner (speed-reading is not a virtue, my dear), Kindling is by no means an awful book. In fact, it's quite good. The ...

The DNA Cowboys Trilogy: Quest for DNA Cowboys/Synaptic Manhunt/Neural Atrocity2 reviews
Mick Farren

Do Not Pr, 2003

A delicious, delirious psychadelic Sci-Fi
This is the original trilogy by Mick published in the fabulous 70's of which "The Last Stand of the DNA Cowboys" is the fourth and most modern addition (pub. 1989), This trilogy has been heralded as the 'lost' classic of adventure/pulp sci-fi novels. A long, rambling entertaining tale of the picaresque misadventures of the 'DNA cowboys' (is the Minstrel not Mick's semi-biographical persona?), ...

Elvis And The Colonel3 reviews
Dirk Vellenga, Mick Farren

Delacorte Press, 1988

A great biography about Colonel Tom Parker's life with Elvis
You get a pretty good idea of what Tom Parker's life was like, because Vellenga interviewed so many people that knew Parker & Elvis. I was very curious because I manage an Elvis Tribute Band, of how they worked together and I learned alot from their mistakes. I don't think the author liked the Colonel too much but you can tell he put alot of research into it & I'm glad he wrote the book. You ...

The Time of Feasting27 reviews
Mick Farren

Tor Books, 1998

Anne Rice who?????
I gave this novel and its sequels to my mother to read. She liked them so much, that her only comment was that Anne Rice, her favorite vampire author, could not even compare. Buy and read this book.

Gene Vincent: There's One In Every Town3 reviews
Mick Farren

Do-Not Press, 2004

A "must read" for Gene Vincent fans
Gene Vincent was the legendary bad-boy of rock: his early records were banned and censored, his shows incited riots, he wrecked hotel rooms, and he was a boozer and drug addict before these conditions were popular among musicians. Author and biographer Mick Farren was an underground newspaper correspondent and is in the perfect place to write up Vincent's life. A full discography and recording ...

Jim Morrison's Adventures in the Afterlife: A Novel6 reviews
Mick Farren

St. Martin's Press, 1999

"It might even be more extreme.Plus we'll have the honey!"
I will try to refrain from wasting space by tearing apart Mr.Price's inappropriate review...but-a brief retort: Considering that Mick is,in no small part,a prominent 60's personage himself, and quite likely at least met Morrison,I feel he is uniquely qualified to use Jim's spectre and essence as a FICTIONAL CHARACTER! Let's face it,if you want biography and retospective,Danny Sugarman said it ...

Who's Watching You?: The Chilling Truth about the State, Surveillance, and Personal Freedom (Conspiracy Books)1 review
Mick Farren, John Gibb

The Disinformation Company, 2007

Very good reading
America is not the only country where the threat of terrorism, and the subsequent encouraging of that fear by the State, has led to the steady erosion of civil liberties for the average individual. This book explores the situation in Britain, said to be the most watched society on Earth. No one knows just how many closed circuit TV cameras are working in Britain at any given moment; estimates ...

Conflagration (Flame of Evil)3 reviews
Mick Farren

Tor Books, 2006

Not a kid but an Adult who love's Mick Farren's work
I loved Mick's Vampire quartet...simply some of the best reading I've ever done. When I saw the Kindling I wished it were aVictor Renquist novel but took a chance. It was very different from a vampire novel but excellant! The sequel is just as good and i hope mick will give us a new Renquest novel and complete this trilogy soon.

Darklost (Renquist Quartet)6 reviews
Mick Farren

Tor Books, 2001

Darklost - worth the price of admission
Farren is a rarety in this day and age, a writer who takes the time to build a plot and define characters. There is faint element of parody in what he does that gives it an unexpected tang. In the Darklost Farren weaves several subplots into a very enjoyable read. The Nosferatu have fled to California and are trying to reestablish a home there. Almost inexorably they are forced by events into ...

CIA Secrets of "The Company"1 review
Mick Farren

Barnes & Noble Books, 2004

Paranoid yet?
Good little book I picked up on special ($5), covers the basic background and history of the CIA. Good info on "black ops" and mind control. See if you can leave the light on when you go to bed ;D
