i got this book because i had another in the series. i was dissapointed becuse it wasn't available in board book, but when i got it i saw why. there is a short line for each letter of the alphabet for little kids, and then a longer paragraph for each letter as well, that goes into the game on a deeper level for older kids. very well illustrated - highly recommended as a book that will grow ...

Attention all horse lovers!
I'm absolutely in love with Sleeping Bear Press Alphabet books. If it wasn't for the fact I wouldn't make any money working at Borders, I'd buy them all. H is for Horse is a WONDERFUL book. The illustrations are just beautiful showing the different aspects of horses (the bit, trotting, etc). The little poems that go with each letter of the alphabet are cleverly written too. A fabulous "Eh? B.C." of Canada, full of nuggets of history!
Some of the letters in Ulmer and Rose's A-B-C of Canada are ones you'd expect: "T" is for Toronto, "Q" is for Quebec, and, of course, given the title, "M" is for Maple.
