The Five People You Meet in Heaven1589 reviews
Mitch Albom

Hyperion, 2003

What a wonderful fantasy...
Mitch Albom is a remarkable writer. I have enjoyed all of his works whether in the weekend "Parade" Magazine, his books or numerous other works. He is fantastic...humanistic, deep, thoughtful, even philosophical, yet down-to-earth. Regardless of the tone, he is guaranteed to touch your heart, your spirit and your soul with his writing. Here he doesn't disappoint his fans, and he makes new ...

Tony Bennett in the Studio: A Life of Art & Music9 reviews
Tony Bennett, Robert Sullivan

Sterling, 2007

Wonderful insight into the side of tony we know too little of
Tony is an accomplished artist, both in vocal delivery, and and his less known side of painting. It is wonderful to see the total artistry of Tony captured in this book, along with a complimentary vocal CD! The reader understands Tony's artistry more completely and appreciates his significant talent more thoroughly!

Tuesdays with Morrie1 review
Jeffrey Hatcher, Mitch Albom

Dramatists Play Service, Inc., 2008

Whoops, didn't get what I wanted
My 15 year old daughter gave me a list of books she wanted, this one on the list. I ordered not seeing that it was a version created for a play (He:..... She:.....). I don't recall the description identifying it as such however I might have overlooked it. I did go back and still didn't see this in the description - just a warning to be sure you know what you are ordering.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven4 reviews
Mitch Albom

Hyperion, 2003

A wonderful, thoughtful parable
I just loved this, loved the ending, and after finally closing it wanted to take the time and think about it for a while. This easy-reading but rich with meaning story is about an old man that is killed on the job at the amusement park where he has worked for most of his life. The tale that the author then constructs gives meaning to his (the old man's) life, and indeed to all of our lives. ...

Tuesdays with Morrie11 reviews
Mitch Albom

Time Warner Paperbacks, 2003

Touched My Heart and Soul
Tuesdays with Morrie is a "final thesis" between a young man and his old, beloved college professor who is diagnosed with a deadly, unforgiving illness called ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. This book made Morrie's death much more valuable by making it a life lesson for people. People fear death and let it take over them instead of preparing for it and cherishing the moments they ...

Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life's Greatest Lesson2104 reviews
Mitch Albom

Broadway, 2002

Fantastic Reading
Tuesday With Morrie is a wonderful book. It sits by my bedside and I constantly pick it up and reread a chapter or two upon going to bed at night. My husband read it and Morrie inspired him to change his life. He wanted to be more like Morrie. A book that helped him do this and continues to is Why Men Die Before Women and How to Prevent It. Read both of these books.

Fab Five: Basketball, trash talk, the American Dream30 reviews
Mitch Albom

Warner Adult, 1993

Fabulous Five Freshmen
"What scares you Jalen? Death, said Jalen,... because I can't imagine a world without me in it." The cockiness that was the Fab Five is captured perfectly by Mitch Albom in his book the Fab Five; Basketball, Trash Talk and the American Dream. Like Albom's other books Tuesdays with Morrie and 5 People You Meet in Heaven, his story telling engulfs the reader and transforms a normal story into a ...

Making Loss Matter : Creating Meaning in Difficult Times12 reviews
Rabbi David J. Wolpe

Riverhead Trade, 2000

Wisdom and comfort for anyone
First I checked it out of the library serendipitously; then I had to own it and purchased my own copy from Amazon. Within a week I had referred it to a number of people whose lives it touched. There is no one who doesn't need this book. It is 21st century wisdom with the depth of ancient sages and vast scope of religous tradition behind it. Wolpe understands life. He crafts sentences that ...

Por Un Dia Mas1 review
Mitch Albom

Hyperion, 2007

For One More Day, story of a lifetime
I haven't finished this book, I just bought it yesterday, but I am already half way through. This is one of the best stories I have ever read. It really made me think about my relationship with my mother, and how much I will miss her when she "goes home". It also reminded me of the sacrifices my mother has made for me and my siblings, and how we don't appreciate the life she gave up, the ...

Martes con mi viejo profesor (Nueva edicion): Un testimonio sobre la vida, la amistad y el amor (Vivencias Y ...1 review
Mitch Albom

Grupo Nelson, 2007

Morrie Schwartz -- A Teacher to the Last
This wonderful book focuses on the meaning of life, from the perspective of a teacher (Morrie Schwartz) who is about to lose his life and his pupil, (Mitch Albom) who has lost his focus on what is important. They come together for 14 Tuesdays (just like they did while the author was a college student at Brandeis) before the professor passes away of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). This book is ...

Bo: Life, laughs, and lessons of a college football legend3 reviews
Bo Schembechler, Mitch Albom

Warner Books, 1989

a throwback to how football coaches are supposed to be !
I was very fortunate to read a book that gave you a feelimg that there are few football coaches out there who can coach football the old fashion way: physical discipline, honesty, and being a great motivator. For Bo to share the stories about Woody Hayes was just awesome. I feel that Bo went thru a great experince in his life time. I have read this book probably 10 times and I like what he ...
