The fate of the Phoenix3 reviews
Sondra Marshak, Myrna Culbreath

A dark drama about the death, and life of James T. Kirk
This book definitely is a must-find. At first it is somewhat slow, but it takes time to get in Sondras and Myrnas style of writing this book, and its' prequel, The Price of the Pheonix (which, I recommed reading first). It speeds up about 30 pages in, and never stops fromt there. It is a book unlike many other books. Think of it as a hardcover bestseller book, in paperback format! Read it!

Star Trek The New Voyages 2 (Star Trek)3 reviews

Spectra, 2000

good sequel
No sooner do I search out this book in a used book store, do they finally reprint it! This book , while not as good as the first, is quite enjoyable. I hate Marshak and Culbreath, but they only edited this book and wrote one story. The story "Surprise" by Nichelle Nichols is a nice change of pace from space battles. Another good anthology

Star Trek: the New Voyages1 review
Sondra & Culbreath, Myrna Marshak

Bantam Books, New York, Toronto, London, Sydney, Auckland, 1976

Great "Classic Trek" stories
It's been a while since I read this but it's possibly still some of the best "original Star Trek" I've read. This book came out in the 70's prior to either "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" or the onslaught of numerous Star Trek novels in the 80's, and was essentially a set of creative short stories intended to pick up where the 3-season series ended. Although I can no longer recall the plot ...

The New Voyages (Star Trek)3 reviews
Myrna Culbreath, Sondra Marshak

Spectra, 1984

Pure nostalgia
This book is literally like taking a trip back in time. The stories are very good, my favorite being Mindsifter. The one about the actors actually being transported into the ST universe is especially fun. Much better than The New Voyages 2, which is still a lot of fun.

Triangle15 reviews

Star Trek, 2000

Hello, Mary Sue
If you see this novel's herione, Sola Thane, as a high end "Mary Sue", this novel makes a lot more sense. That doesn't make it a very good novel but does give it a sort of consistency. And hey, it's better than "The Vulcan Academy Murders."

The Prometheus Design9 reviews

Star Trek, 2000

Mediocre execution of a potentially great story idea
Seemingly omnipotent aliens are conducting dreadful experiments and hastening the demise of the galaxy in an effort to solve the age old ?Promethean? question of good v/s evil. This story has its moments but in the end it tends to confuse more than enlighten or even entertain. The character of the Vulcan Admiral Savaj has tremendous potential and the insights into Vulcan culture are ...

The Price of the Phoenix13 reviews
Sondra Marshak, Myrna Culbreath

Spectra, 1993

Incredible story!
I've read many Star Trek books throughout the years and can unequivocally say this is the best one. This book is for serious readers only. It tackles many deep issues and is loaded with metaphors. The central theme is whether immortality is worth the price of your soul. The prose is amazing and is almost poetic. It is very dark compared to the original series but the loyalty and pure ...

THE PHONICS GAME STARTER KIT: The Phonics Game is a total phonetic reading system, cleverly disguised as a series of fun, interactive games. In fact, its six great games your children will love to play over and over.
