Paws and Reflect: A Special Bond Between Man and Dog15 reviews
Neil S. Plakcy, Sharon Sakson

Alyson Books, 2008

For dog lovers and the dog indifferent, both gay and straight
I bought Paws and Reflect for my partner for Valentine's Day. He loved it and put it on my reading stack. And I'm so glad that he did. As the proud owner of a sweet one year old dachshund, we just recently decided to get his new baby half-sister, who is now five weeks old. We were a bit skittish about introducing a new dog into our household. Through stories both humorous and touching, Paws ...

A Great Mystery
I like mysteries and crime novels, and that's why I bought this. I loved reading it. It was engaging and I just loved the main character, Kimo. (What a great name) He is so easygoing and intense at the same time. He's a character you can feel close to and care about what happens to him. I recommend this book to any reader of crime or mystery books.

Mahu18 reviews

Haworth Press, 2005

Beautiful.
This was defnitely a different read for me, not an ebook and not strictly a romance, but I could not resist picking it up. Surfing, cops and a mystery were a rather huge temptation and I am certainly glad I did. Kimo was an incredibly engaging character. It was not that he leapt off the page but rather quietly shared his story with honesty, feeling and flaws. I can only imagine the struggle a ...

police work
A very well written police story. The most I can say is you enjoy seeing people get what they deserve even if it is in a round about way.

Kelly Green
Neil S. Plakcy

Amazon, 2006

After I wrote Mahu, the character of Honolulu police detective Kimo Kanapa'aka stayed with me? and I found that there were many cases he could investigate that didn't take a novel to play out, and would also illuminate his coming out process. In ?Kelly Green,? he is able to track down a gay man who has fled Honolulu, and help that man come to terms with his family?and catch some bad guys at the same time.

In ?The Price of Salt,? Mahu Fire: A Hawaiian Mystery9 reviews
Neil S. Plakcy

Alyson Books, 2008

Hawaiian Intrigue
Mahu Fire is an excellent addition to Neil Plakcy's exotic Kimo Kanapa'aka series. Once again, the author hits all the right notes in his blend of well-crafted characters, sharp dialogue, and a taste of the Hawaiian tropics. It is fast-paced and entertaining in all the right ways, and should please not only existing fans, but will win him new ones as well.
