Darkside: A Novel13 reviews
P. T. Deutermann

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 2003

You made the Supt's List, P.T.
This was my first exposure to P.T. Deutermann's work, and it was an enjoyable one. The traits of a good mystery are: an inventive plot, well orchestrated; interesting characters, a strong sense of place in keeping with the story, and a well developed sense of pacing. Having attended the Naval Academy myself, I can tell you he has the place nailed - I could feel Mother B. around me as I read. ...

Nova, 1997

Gripping Thriller Keeps You Wondering
The novel begins with what appears to be a routine police investigation into what may or not be an accidental death. A beautiful woman is dead and her former boyfriend, a frocked Rear Admiral (lower half)assigned to the navy staff at the Pentagon may or may not be a suspect. The young admiral, who had served in Vietnam years before as the skipper of a Swift boat plying the tributaries of ...

P.T. DEUTERMANN

MICHAEL JOSEPH LTD, 1996

GREAT MURDER MYSTERY FULL OF NAVY COVER UP
This book kept me on the edge of my seat right until the very end with a very suprising twist. Full of Navy acronyms, military and civilian both will find very entertaining. The detailed descriptions of Washington DC were amusing and gave me a feel for the what the city and surronding area is really like. I have enjoyed many of Peter Deutermann's books and this one is surely one of the ...

Wham Zam Thriller Kadiller
David Stafford is a disgraced government bureaucrat, recently consigned to Siberia (Atlanta). Wendell Carson is a government bureacrat in good standing, but definitely on the take. His latest scheme involves a cylinder of the deadly "Wet Eye"--weapon of mass destruction beyond your wildest dreams--which he has acquired and is somehow planning to sell. The girl in the airport is mute but ...

Train Man20 reviews
P. T. Deutermann

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 2001

A compelling and superb contemporary thriller!
In recent years I have become hugely disappointed in most of the mediocre scrawlings which have been recently published as novels; however, on the highest recommendation of a much-trusted literary friend, I began reading the works of P.T. Deutermann and I'm so glad that I did. I haven't completed reading all his works but "Train Man" is my favorite so far. The story, (oversimplified), is ...

The Cat Dancers: A Novel18 reviews
P. T. Deutermann

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 2006

Wow. What a thriller
Deuterman arrives with this novel. It is a real page turner, with a solid main character, many secondary characters that leap off the page at you, and a great story to boot. This mystery keeps the pages turning and keeps me from hiking any canyons any time soon. I can hardly wait for the next installment.

Spider Mountain: A Novel18 reviews
P. T. Deutermann

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 2008

Very exciting sequel
This sequel to "Cat Dancers" is a stand alone story but reading the first book would help understand the characters and some of the story line. That said, don't start this one unless you are prepared to dedicate some seriou time to finishing it. The action is constant, the dialogue crisp and the bad guys are really bad. The story takes place in the North Carolina mountains with Cam and his two ...

The Edge of Honor9 reviews
P. T. Deutermann

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 1995

Stand-by, Execute!
Well, Captain P.T. Deutermann USN (Ret) has done it again. He has written another well thought-out military thriller that also has all the ingredients of a good mystery. With each book released, he just gets better and better. LT Brian Holcomb is a young surface warfare officer who is trying to undo the damage of a potentially career-ending fitness report. Attempting to do so, he takes ...

Gritty and Real
I've spent a lot of time in the "tin can navy" and can tell you that Deutermann knows his stuff. His ability to describe the machinations of Navy polictics is unparalleled. I cannot recommend his books too highly.

AN ABSORBING STORY SKILLFULLY PLOTTED
This time out Deutermann has crafted absorbing story of a father's search for his missing daughter. Three college students are hiking around an abandoned military complex when presto - they disappear. The FBI soon chalks it up to a youthful runaway. However, one father knows better, and he's not your typical parent-next-door. Edwin Kriess is a former member of a special CIA group that was trained ...

Jerry's Comments
Deutermann has really done it this time. Great characters and story. I just wish he would write more often so I may enjoy his talents as a writer. His stories get better and better with each novel and his writing/character development get one so engulfed in what going on that the reader can actually feel what the character(s)are experiencing.
