Not really helpful; from a guy who likes posters
I see things well on posters; I like to sit back and view information on a wall a few feet away, or even up close, and get a larger / bird's eye view of things. Some posters are very good and helpful -- these two, however, simply aren't very helpful [I'll rate the other separately]. For me, the benefits of posters is to be able to see a set of data in one place and take in the whole picture. ...

This is the OLD book
This is a great book, but you want the second edition, which covers up to Java 1.1. Its ISBN is different.

Essential Java Reference
I picked this book up a couple months ago and can't imagine how I got along without it before. The first section includes simple examples of common uses of the java packages. I find this extremely useful. There are realms in Java where the intricacies often slip my mind, particularly in java.io, and the small examples of these packages shown in section 1 serve as a perfect reminder of how exactly ...

An Amazing Concise Reference
The Java Developers ALMANAC 1999 is literally one the best "desk references" that I've every seen - period. Its "architecture" makes navigating the vast Java class library very easy. Clever use of bold text formatting and a terse set of symbols representing modifiers and OO concepts make this a very "dense" reference in a relatively small volume. The text is printed on a very high ...

What wall art should be: look cool and practical!
When I received a copy of this chart, I opened it, took a long hard look at it and then hung it up on the second most prominent wall of my training center. The only item that has higher priority is my whiteboard. It will occupy that place until a newer version comes along, when it will be moved to a secondary position on a wall of lesser prominence. Quite naturally, the classes are segmented ...

Best game ever!
This is a fabulous game. My husband and I have played this one over and over again, and have dragged it to friends' houses to teach them the awesome power of Mr. Bunny. A minute to learn, a lifetime to get all the jokes. Seriously, folks, it's a fun little game, even though the pieces go all over the place when you're trying to play it on the plane.

Nothing can describe Java classes better
I strongly recommend this book to all Java users of all levels because no other book describes all classes of java.lang, java.io, java.net, java.util, java.text and java.math packages better. Every class, every method and every exception is explained by very understandable language with good and useful examples. There is no Java language problem you cannot solve with this book.

Must have!
An absolute must for any hardcore JAVA programmer! Unless of course you have a remarkable memory. The shear vastness of the java API and any anxiety thereof would be remedied by this entire series on your shelf. Looking forward to a more extensive reference on the Graphics2D/Graphics3D.
