Great story teller
Since I soak up all OSS books like a sponge, it was with great zeal that I sprung on this book the moment it was out. O'Donnell is a great writer, and never let's the reader get bored. It would make a great movie. Like all the interesting stories, it's fortunate that they are told by someone like O'Donnell who has the right touch. I have read these books by the real men and women who ...

Beyond Valor
What a great book! It was wonderful to see my Uncle in this book, and all the brave men that served with him. Uncle Ray never talked about his experience, so it was great to see what he,and all the men went thru. Very heartfelt and touching. Thanks to the author for openening my eyes, to the horrors of war!

Well done
I just read the book. I went back to post a review and was actually pissed off to read that one of the men died after the publishing of the book. The author stated that he was nearly broke when he had it ...

One of the most honest books about combat in the Pacific War
Well, if other reviews don't say it already, this book was one of the more brutally honest books written about war against Japan. Its honest because its brutally politically incorrect. The American soldiers who relates their stories, tell not only of the horrors that the Japanese troops committed but additional horrors of what they did to the Japanese troops. This was no-hold bar combat, where ...

Captivating History
This book was not only entertaining it was also informative. The book discusses an area of WWII that has not been fully covered. The descriptive stories and tales almost make you feel you were there.
