The Darkness Compendium Edition (Vol. 1)15 reviews
Garth Ennis, Paul Jenkins, ...

Top Cow Productions/Image Comics, 2006

The Darkness Is Spreading
A great buy for Darkness fans. Though it took two weeks just to ship and the sender didnt bother wraping it in any kind of plastic to protect it during shipping so my copy has a few minor rips in the spin. Other then that great condition and a great read.

Civil War: Front Line, Book 2 (Bk. 2)9 reviews
Paul Jenkins, Ramon Bachs, ...

Marvel Comics, 2007

Classic Marvel!!
Marvel Civil War collection is an instant classic for all ages to enjoy. My suggestion is that if you get Civil War Frontline Vol 2 you should get Vol 1 at the same time because the story is SO good that you will have wished you ordered both if you didn't. While I'm at it, get the whole Marvel Civil War series. It's classic stuff and it's great for all ages. JC

Toy Dance Party6 reviews
Emily Jenkins

Schwartz & Wade, 2008

A Wistful Follow-up, inventive as its predecessor
This book, the sequel to the brilliant and delightful Toys Go Out by Emily Jenkins, is slightly more sombre than the first volume. But the inventiveness, poetry, humor an warmth is as present as ever. Old characters develop and new characters are hilarious. You will never think of a Barbie the same way again.

Witchblade Compendium, Vol. 1 (v. 1)8 reviews
Marc Silvestri, Michael Turner, ...

Top Cow Productions/Image Comics, 2008

5 stars for series, 2 stars for binding
I bought this compendium to read this series after I learned that Marc Silvestri, who worked on "The Darkness" comic series, also did this. I had bought the newest versions that were re-released, and I have to say that I am impressed by them. The new covers are now white, making them stand out on your shelf and making them look cooler than the last versions. I have to say, after reading it all, ...

Penance: Relentless TPB2 reviews
Paul Jenkins, Paul Gulacy

Marvel Comics, 2008

The public needed a scapegoat and created a sociopath
If you followed the New Warriors, Civil War Frontline, or the Thunderbolts then you know something of Robbie. Former New Warrior who was the public's scapegoat for the tragedy that stemmed the Civil War, turns into a twisted psychological mess following the tragedy. Now this book shows how Penance for the first time in his stand alone story. A good read as you get an inside look into his head, I ...

Decimation: X-Men - Generation M (House of M)4 reviews
Paul Jenkins, Ramon F. Bachs

Marvel Comics, 2006

Strong, intelligent understated storytelling
For a book spinning out of a complex comic event, Mr. Jenkins serves up a refined dish of mutant fun. The books only fun was the dragon thing at the very beginning. Now why would nature, or evolution choose that power for a homo superior? Sorta dumb! But from there this books becomes a very intelligent murder mystery that introduces some characters that Jenkins truly gives life in Civil War ...

Spider-Man: Return of the Goblin (Peter Parker, Spider-Man)13 reviews
Paul Jenkins, Humberto Ramos

Marvel Entertainment Group, 2003

Spider vs. Goblin as God intended
While the art is cartoonish (my apologies to Ramos fans:()....the story is rock solid. From the sense of dread brought about by Norman Osborn's deliberate open taunts and threats...a true sense of menace and forboding is set from the onset of this graphic novel. You might have read every comic ever written, but you do not expect what Norman delivers to Peter.... The parallels with Batman: Killing ...

Top Cow/Marvel: The Crossover Collection Vol. 13 reviews
Warren Ellis, Chris Claremont, ...

Top Cow Productions/Image Comics, 2005

Crossovers
The story told in this comic book is one of a devil who wants to convert an alternate earth into his own personal hell. To go againt him there are an array of super heroes, such as Silver Surfer, Witchblade, Elektra, Cyblade, Wolverine, etc. What I really enjoyed of this comic book wasd the chance of seeing so many super heroes from Top Cow and Marvel together. And the story wasn't bad, I ...

World War Hulk: Front Line2 reviews
Paul Jenkins

Marvel Comics, 2008

A "street level look" at WWH? Not really, but not too bad either
Like Civil War: Front Line before it, writer Paul Jenkins returns with World War Hulk: Front Line, which finds reporters Ben Urich and Sally Floyd covering the developments, and getting caught in the middle of, the Hulk's attack on the superheroes of New York City. As far as offering up a "street level look" at the developments of World War Hulk, it doesn't really deliver. However, Jenkins does ...

Sentry: Reborn TPB3 reviews
Paul Jenkins

Marvel Comics, 2006

I don't get the one star review.
This is a dark muddled tale of the darkest and most muddled mind in the Marvel Universe, and I enjoyed this work just ass much as have many a work by Alan Moore. I have no idea how accurate the psychology of the story is but one of the points it makes it that Doctor Cornelius is at a disadvantage, his patient is of a psychology unlike unto himself, he is both the greatest force of good, and the ...
