Druid Animal Oracle Deck2 reviews
Philip Carr-gorman, Stephanie Carr-gorman

Connections Book Publishing, 2006

Deck and Book Set
"Somehow animals act as ideal symbols or images of our deepest fears and urges, or of those parts of our psyche which have been denied or repressed or simply neglected. By welcoming and loving the animals which enter our awareness through the Oracle, in dreams and meditations and reverie, we enrich our inner world and discover a way of personal growth that is completely in tune with the natural ...

Druidcraft: The Magic of Wicca and Druidry5 reviews
Philip Carr-Gomm

Thorsons, 2002

Druidry, Witchcraft, and the Ovate
There are many within Druidry in general and the OBOD in particular who came from Wicca. Many of these folks have said that Druidry seemed to be a natural progression in their education and direction as pertains to the magic and religion of the Celtic peoples. But why? The Ovates were the witches, if you will, of the Celtic peoples. The word Ovate comes from the Irish word Fáith which means ...

Bonewits's Essential Guide to Druidism12 reviews
Isaac Bonewits

Citadel, 2006

Highly recommended
Learning about neo-pagan druidism should, at first glance, be easy. The shelves of both "New Age" bookstores and the "Alternative Religion" category at your local Barnes and Noble are sure to be filled with tons of books with words like "Celtic" and "Druid" and "Irish" and so-forth. Simply grab one of those books, and you're on your way. The reality is, of course, quite different. Most of ...

The Elements of the Druid Tradition (Elements of ...)4 reviews
Philip Carr-Gomm

Element Books, 1991

A wonderful way to understand modern Druidry
Many of the myths and misinformation that has surrounded modern Druidry are dispelled in this succinct presentation of the Druid tradition by one of the foremost authorities on Druidry. Along with this study of the history and founding spirituality of classical times are some very practical modern exercises at the end of each chapter that the reader can readily apply to his/her everyday life.

Druid Mysteries: Ancient Wisdom for the 21st Century1 review
Philip Carr-Gomm

Random House UK, 2002

Overview of Druidry, ancient, not-so ancient and modern...
Review from October 20, 2004: According to the author, he started off doing a new edition of "The Elements of the Druid Tradition", but ended up with a (mostly) new book, so some of this may be familiar. What does this book cover? A basic history of Druidry - ancient, the 17th century revival, and modern Neopagan (mainly in the form of OBOD - the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, of which ...

The Druid Way: A Journey Through an Ancient Landscape11 reviews
Philip Carr-Gomm

Thoth Publications, 2006

The Modern Druid not Druidism
The religion practiced by the ancient Celts and their priests the Druids, is and will always be a mystery. It is sad to see people wishing, hoping, and praying that they could defy logic and physics and go back in time figuratively or otherwise and follow "Druidism." The sad truth is they would probably tell the Druids they were not worshipping or performing their rites in a historically accurate ...

The Druid Plant Oracle
Philip Carr-Gomm, Stephanie Carr-Gomm

St. Martin's Press, 2008

In the Druid tradition, many plants, herbs, flowers, and mushrooms are considered sacred and to have special meanings, and are prominent features of mythology and legend. The Druid Plant Oracle presents these stories and the virtues and qualities that have been traditionally ascribed to these plants, through an oracle that is able to offer unique guidance and inspiration. The thirty-six cards each show a plant within its natural habitat and ...

Druid Animal Oracle24 reviews
Philip Carr-Gomm, Stephanie Carr-Gomm

Fireside, 1995

Gorgeous cards!
I love these cards! As an animal oracle they bring clarity and inspire vision - the symbols within each image are subtle and lovely and I absolutely love reading with this deck. I'm not a huge fan of the cloth that comes with the deck and have never used the book, just the cards, but i've wrapped them in the cloth more for sentimentality sake than for a reading cloth. I highly recommend them!

In the Grove of the Druids: The Druid Teachings of Ross Nichols1 review
Philip Carr-Gomm

Watkins Publishing Ltd, 2002

Historical addition to Druid information
Though I do not like that the author is trying so hard to please the different religions and "fit in" in a way that comprimised the druid perspective, This book is a good addition to the History of the development of modern druidism.

The Druid Renaissance: The Voice of Druidry Today6 reviews

Thorsons Publishers, 1996

Carr-Gomm's reader friendly presentation of modern Druidry
The most informative source book about contemporary Druidism I've found. Druidic history is addressed unabashedly; even the less popular aspects are discussed and dissected in a comprehensive, informative manner.

The Book of Druidry9 reviews
Ross Nichols

Thorsons Publishers, 1992

Modern Druidic History
This book is a must-have not because of its many historical/archeological inaccuracies but because it was one of the first produced by someone in recent history proclaiming to be following a Druidic Way. No one truly knows what the ancient druids did or believed with any exactness. It's left up to Anthropology and its constant flux of theories in order to interpret archeological finds versus ...

The Rebirth of Druidry: Ancient Earth Wisdom for Today4 reviews
Philip Carr-Gomm

Element Books Ltd., 2003

A Fine Collection of Essays.
I didn't know exactly what to expect when I ordered this book following an impulse-buyer's urge to find something on modern Druidry... What I found was a refreshing collection of essays by various authors (among them: Isaac Bonewits, Cairistiona Worthington, Caitlin Matthews, Mara Freeman, Tom Cowan and, of course, Philip Carr-Gomm, the editor) offering insight into the wide range of the modern ...

What Do Druids Believe? (What Do We Believe?)1 review
Philip Carr-Gomm

Granta Books, 2006

Love Phillip!
I bought this book to accent my OBOD studies. I really enjoy Philip's work and think Ross Nichols would be very proud of the work he's doing. Philip always provides a lot of great historical information and I really enjoy his writing. The only thing better is hearing him speak, he's got a wonderful voice. For anyone interested in Druidic studies, you definitely need to have Philips books in ...
