How to Be a More Effective Person and to Live a Better Life
For years I used to treat people in more or less a consistent way in my interpersonal interactions or in managing projects. As a result I know I have become a better and more effective person in the work environment and ...

Training In Interpersonal Skills: Tips for Managing People at Work, Supplemental Text2 reviews
Stephen P. Robbins, Phillip L. Hunsaker

Prentice Hall, 2002

Good Tips for Managing People
The book was the main text book in one of my MBA classes. The class taught how to deal with people in a variety of situations. The book is best used in this setting. A majority of the pages describe several role playing situations and there's also feedback forms on how you did. So it's nice to have someone to do the role plays with you. If you are just going to read the book, it gives a short ...

Management: A Skills Approach (2nd Edition)1 review
Phillip L. Hunsaker

Prentice Hall, 2004

Used in MBA program
Unfortunately I gave this textbook a rather low rating because I thought it was one of those books that was pretty much "common sense". There are times that you realize that you "knew" the concept but didn't know how to put it into words. While the book might be good review of some concepts, I am not sure it is worth the price of ~$80-$100.

This is a good basic book on management which delves into the application of management concepts in organizations. Management and Organizational Behavior (Instructors Manual)1 review
Robert E. Coffey, Curtis W. Cook, ...

Richard D Irwin, 1993

Not worth it at half the price.
This book is outrageously overpriced. The major problem is that the authors drone on and on in each chapter about the same stuff. Most of the chapters would have been sufficient at half of their 30 page length. After about 15 pages and the third repetition of stuff that's already been explained, my brain started to wander. I'd have to go back and force myself to pay attention to what was ...
