CorelDRAW 11 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide)3 reviews
Steve Schwartz, Phyllis Davis

Peachpit Press, 2002

Very good for beginners
For somebody who never used Coreldraw, this is a very helpful and easy guide. It is simply written and easy to understand. For those who think they already know what is in the book and wants to nly find out what is new, I would say do not forget those who are new.

Medical Terminology: A Programmed Systems Approach8 reviews
Genevieve Love Smith, Phyllis E. Davis, ...

Delmar Thomson Learning, 1999

Very helpful book
I purchased this book to help me learn medical terminology at my own pace. I expected less than what I received. There are diagrams, charts, and lots of examples. There is a good amount of repetition so after the chapter is finished the terminology is retained.

The Power of Touch - The Basis for Survival, Health, Intimacy, and Emotional Well-Being3 reviews
Phyllis Davis

Hay House, 1999

Dr. Davis addresses so many of my interpersonal roles.
I just finished reading The Power of Touch by Dr. Phyllis K. Davis. I was immediately impressed by the author's voice that seemed as warm, and inviting as it was wise. The more I read of the book, the more I wanted to read. The content seemed well researched, without sounding clinical. What really amazed me was how many of my roles Dr. Davis addressed: wife, mother, daughter, teacher and ...

CorelDraw 10 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide)
Phyllis Davis, Steve Schwartz

CorelDRAW has enjoyed a long run at the front of the pack of illustration programs on the market. No wonder: You get vector illustration, layout, bitmap creation, image editing, painting, and animation, all in one package. With the milestone release of version 10, the leading object-oriented drawing and graphics program proves that it isn't resting on its laurels. Whether you're upgrading from a previous version or have never used an art program ...

GIMP (Visual QuickStart Guide)5 reviews
Phyllis Davis

Peachpit Press, 2000

Excellent and complete introduction.
At the time of this writing, this is easily the best introduction to the GIMP. It covers about 90% of the material in the GIMP for Linux Bible, but the explanations are more concise. I would recommend the other book only if you need coverage of scripting, which this Quickstart doesn't really have.

CorelDRAW 8 for Windows, Fourth Edition (Visual QuickStart Guide)4 reviews
Phyllis Davis

Peachpit Press, 1998

Excellent for graphics beginner
I grasp computer concepts very quickly and have worked with some desktop publishing programs, but had never worked with a "professional" graphics program before. This book, however, was excellent; within an hour I was up and running and very comfortable using both the program and the book. Would recommend highly. Now I wish the author would write one for Corel PhotoPaint (hint, hint).

CorelDRAW 9 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide)5 reviews
Phyllis Davis

Peachpit Press, 1999

This book is awesome!
Miss Phyllis Davis does an excellent job of explaining CorelDraw. She really knows what she is talking about. You can use this book as a reference, or follow the steps in it to perform specific tasks. Do not be fooled because it is a smaller book with many pictures. This "little" book says more than any other CorelDraw book I have looked at. It is indespensable on my shelf.
