Richard P. Feynman, Michael A. Gottlieb, ...

Addison Wesley, 2005

Most useful book
I found this book extremely useful and enjoyable to read. I suggest reading this book before starting to read Feynman Lectures.

Tuva or Bust! Richard Feynman's Last Journey29 reviews
Ralph Leighton

W. W. Norton & Company, 2000

More than a book...
It was all just accidental. I stumbled upon this book through a documentary that I rented, called Ganghis Blues. I like all types of music and thought "A documentary about Blues music, cool..." After realizing what a fortune of life I had found in this movie, I was drawn to everything TUVA. SO, to the book I go. The book of course came before the documentary, and obviously was an influence in the ...

The Feynman Tapes, Volume 2 (At Cornell and The Draft)1 review
Richard Phillips Feynman

Tuvamuch Records, 2002

The Feynman Tapes, Volume 2 (Audio CD)
These audio CD's are much more convenient and durable than the lectures on tape. It's wonderful to be able to hear the master's voice just as if you were there in the lecture hall. Just thankful that these lectures are available on CD. I have transferred my CD's to my iPod so that I can listen whenever I have time - very convenient.

The Feynman Tapes, Volume 0 (Fixing Radios and other stories)1 review
Richard Phillips Feynman, Ralph E. Leighton

Tuvamuch Records, 2002

Amazingly funny
My only wish was that someone had had the foresight to film this guy more often...these stories is Feynman at his best--a master storyteller

Safecracker Suite: Drumming and Storytelling3 reviews
Richard P. Feynman

Scientific Consulting Services, 1997

A Feynman Must Have
If you are a Feynman fan, this is for you. The drumming selections punctuated with classic stories is priceless. Everytime I listen to it I hear something I missed before. Always funny and always entertaining. It's a great way to introduce his humor and intellect to those who never knew him and to those of us who wish we did.

Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman and What Do You Care What Other People Think?1 review
Ralph Leighton

Blackstone Audiobooks, 2006

A genius, an artist, a musician and a safecracker....
I generally do not like to have anything read to me aloud. First of all, I tend to drift off to sleep, and, second I can't put a marker in someone's mouth and return a few hours later and have them begin again where we had left. This audio book on CD was different. The narrator is so much fun to listen to you could swear it was the author himself reading his stories. This is an ...

Classic Feynman: All the Adventures of a Curious Character4 reviews
Richard P. Feynman

W. W. Norton, 2005

Two books in one + CD...
I have purchased almost all Feynman books so far. Be forewarned. This book is a compilation of "Surely your joking..." and "What do you care what..." plus a bonus CD audio recording of a talk which was "in-te-res-ting" ( a Feynmanism). If I had realized this, I would only have bought this book instead of all three. For a more global and thorough exposition of his life, consider ...

Surely You're Joking, Mr.Feynman!1 review
Ralph Leighton, Richard P. Feynman

Vintage, 2007

Brilliant, inspirational, and VERY funny!
There can be no argument that Richard P Feynman was a genius. He has been a hero of mine since I was very young, probably because my father also greatly admires him and spoke to me about Feynman and his unique personality from time to time. There are some great stories in this book and they will make you laugh out loud. Feynman was always so full of life and he was curious about absolutely ...

What Do You Care What Other People Think?: Further Adventures of a Curious Character62 reviews
Richard P. Feynman

W. W. Norton & Company, 2001

Feynman was a great man
Not quite as funny as "Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman", but just as touching. A pleasure to read. This books makes us like not only the man, but it also inspires us to join his quest for scientific knowledge and rational thinking.

Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!: Adventures of a Curious Character7 reviews
Richard P. Feynman, Edward Hutchings

Bantam, 1986

Sometimes, Non-Linear Thinking Shines
Feynman's thinking style is not "linear." This is the reason he was able to break out of the box, and make the profound breakthroughs that were his mark. One anecdote after another illustrates this in a most enjoyable and enlightening way. For example, as a lad he wanted to learn real mathematics. The librarian wouldn't allow him to borrow advanced math books, so he said they were for someone ...

The Feynman Tapes, Volume 1 (Chief Research Chemist and other stories) (The Feynman Tapes (Recorded By Ralph ...2 reviews
Richard Phillips Feynman, Ralph E. Leighton

Tuvamuch Records, 1999

A purist won't grant something else for Feynman's Stories
Though Feynman died a pretty long time ago, an interesting phenomena, may be unique to him, is that he is constantly writing and publishing new books! That's because Feynman's bestsellers--the set of lectures given at Caltech, "Surely you're Joking", "What do you care?", "QED", and some others--were not written by him, though he is recognised being the author by everybody, including himself ...
