Potty Book long enough to keep them there
This is a great little book that has enough pages that my child was able to remain interested in it long enough so that he would sit on the potty for a few minutes. I think this is a good aid to potty training.

Webster's Unabridged Dictionary
As a medical student, I have found this to be an extremely valuable asset to my library. Some of the other students I know simply scoff at buying something like this, what with the Internet being the golden egg to so many. There are times though, that using a book for reference is not only functional, but also sometimes even easier, not to mention you don't have to second guess the information ...

Bright pictures, lovely book
I have been reading this book to my now 1 year old daughter since 4 months of age. She was instantly captivated by bright pictures. Added to that are the collection of rhymes that can be played with the child. When I read out "Five little ducks..." She answers back saying "Quack Quack Quack".

PERFECT FOR TRANSITIONS!
I read this to my 2 year old when I wanted him to start sleeping in a big boy's bed. I couldn't believe how easily this book helped with the transition. With everthing that elmo did in this book, my son could do/ have too. I showed him elmo's pillow, sheets, and lovey's and then showed my son that he has his pillow, chose his sheets, ect..too and said that "he was just like elmo" what was another ...

As Unabridged
Random House was not at all in my list in the past. I was a fan of Oxford for a long time. But when talking to a friend recently on different dictionaries, I came across this and he said I should take a look at it. I went to check the reviews in amazon and as the above reviews suggested it is way low in the rating. But I can not ignore my friend's request as he is very good in the art of this ...

Bold and sturdy book celebrating a great day!
Bright and colorful pages make this book loads of fun for any little one's special day. Elmo celebrates his birthday with the whole Sesame Street gang from Bert and Ernie to Zoe and Cookie Monster. Each page has a touch and feel texture, i.e. Elmo's nose is soft and velvety, Ernie's box has "straw" inside. The pages are large and sturdy, a great board book to have in your child's library or ...

A Hit with Elmo lovers!
This is the 3rd Elmo's World book we have purchased and it is great. It uses the same format and language as the TV show. The large print and flaps are perfect for the younger kids. My son is 15 months and an expert with his Elmo books. He will crawl over and read them by himself. These are great book and the various topice are fun and interesting for the younger set.

Wonderful book, fun, colorful and great for teaching kids about animals and the alphabet
Took my 18 month old son to Toysrus and he ran to his favorite aisle...the BOOK aisle, he sat down and chose two books this one and 1,2,3 count with Elmo and Me. He LOVES them both. This book is just great, beautiful pictures and such a nice way to begin teaching your child numbers as well as different animals. My son cannot get enough of Ernie & Elmo and this book really fits the bill for him. I ...

Good God! Is Buckley the Greatest living writer?!
Reading this book is literally stunning. If there were any justice, the hacks ought to abandon their work (or at least rewrite it through a few times) before they sling it out the door- looking at James Patterson and Dan Brown. The prose on every page is so carefully wrought it is amazing. He captures characters, organizations and Washington dynamics with such economy, with such perfect ...

Good for most
Useful to most common readers who need precise meanings and not worrying about other issues, like example sentencese, phrases, idioms so and so. The best feature is not only its sharp meanings but pronunciation. Unlike the modern dictionaries, it uses very simple, easy to understand and get the sound by looking at the keys. No magic. With such simple keys, you don't need an expensive purchase ...

such a fine little dictionary
My copy is nearly a year and a half old, and amazingly, looks "almost new." Of everything I own, it's the only item that gets abuse, and abuse it gets. It gets dropped, laid open with other books on top of it, etc. I use it constantly. I must. I'm a terrible speller. Rarely do I look up a word that's not included (and I look up some obscure ones!), and it has lots of extras. The "New Words" ...

I read it in a day...
The only problem with this book is its length. Other than that, I think it's adorable. I love Lena, Carmen, Birdget and Tibby (Tibby most of all, it must be said), so getting to go still deeper into their characters is a treat. And I liked that the book included at least one thing by Bailey, who's one of my favorite characters. Also liked the sections on Tib's favorite movies, the excerpt from ...

I imagine even Morgan would be impressed.
Jean Strouse's powerful gift to tell a story combined with her intellectual muscle lead to a riveting biography of J.P. Morgan's life. I read this book when it first came out. I remember at some point there after visiting The Morgan Library and some "Morgan -- Bella da Costa Greene" missive was on display which I found enchanting after reading about the unusual and dynamic woman that came to ...

Useful as well as handy
I have reviewed several writing, grammar, style and usage guides while preparing guidelines for a magazine I edit. This may become my first choice reference. "Handy Grammar, Usage and Punctuation" is quite comparable to Merriam Webster's "Guide to Punctuation and Style." They are similar in size and price and cover similar material. The differences that I expect between the two publishers' ...
