Fantastic must have board book!
I just stumbled across this mini-board book for my son and after 2 times of watching me slide the characters in and out of the pages with a finger tip he had it down!! This sturdy book is constructed to withstand lots of reading & use plus the animals all slide very easily. My son spent 20 feverish minutes last night working each and every page over and over!! I'm buying the other two books in ...

Excellent book
Garbage collection is a very interesting and complicated topic. To understand different garbage collection algorithms, one has to go through various research papers published over last 30 years or read the simplified descriptions presented in Java site and Bill Venners artima.com. This book does an excellent job in putting together all these algorithms in a logical order that gives us a chance to ...

Excellent Read
This book is written in such a style that is easy to understand, yet technical and detailed enough to maintain your interest and attention all the way through. The book presents several ways of accomplishing the same tasks in a non-biased, non-vendor-specific way. It explores the use of free, open-source tools as well as commercial offerings, and drills down into forensic analysis of both ...

The only healthy way to think
Think Biblically is edited by John MacArthur, who also has contributed four chapters to the book. The other contributors are faculty members of the Masters College. Every person has a weltanschauung we are told in the introduction. A weltanschauung is a personal worldview. This book contrasts the christian worldview from a secular mindset. How should a christian think about and relate to the ...

One of the best books we own
My kid loves this book, as well as the others, like Bang Bang and Knock Knock. Every mom who has ever come over to visit at my home has noticed their kids go straight for these books and they have all fallen in love with it, so much that they have immediately gone and bought it for their little toddlers. My 20 month old, loves the sliding board books and since we began reading these he has ...

Excellent book!
A touching, funny, insightful account of the human condition played out against the practice of a small doctor and his patients. A way of life that's passing from the American landscape kept alive by Dr. Jones with colorful, witty writing and a real compassionate touch.

Costly but useful
This is a very expensive, but wonderfully useful book. It gives the libretto to every single cantata plus information on the liturgical occasion for the cantata and a good, albeit brief discussion of the meaning of the piecel I quailed when I first bought it, because it is expensive. But it is my vade mecum. I use it constantly.

Lots of population statistics!
The book details population changes in every region of the planet from 400 BC to 1978 AD. McEvedy and Jones used seventy line graphs and accompanying commentary text to describe population changes in seventy regions. The only negative aspect of this book is that the authors estimates of pre-European, Native American populations are considerably lower than most other estimates and seem somewhat ...

Great book, great info
This set of books is very well written and provides a tremendous amount of information to the reader. I would recommend this set of books to anyone who wants to roll up their sleeves and truly get their hands dirty. I would not recommend these books for the beginner as the material will quickly give one the feeling of "Drinking from a firehose" without a reasonable amount of knowledge going ...

Soft Machines: Nanotechnology and Life

plenty of room at the bottom, but it's sticky and shaky
What is nanotechnology? Much of what has fallen under that label has been incremental extension of established engineering practices and technologies to the nanoscale, e.g. improvements in planar silicon fabrication. How much longer can this continue? A more radical vision is that of K. Eric Drexler and his followers, who foresee precise positional control and construction of "assemblers" and ...

A comprehensive guide that can save your family from ruin.
This book was designed in a unique fashion, written from prison. I, Richard O.Jones, the author, was a convict in two California State Prisons from 1988 thru 1990. My conviction was 'major welfare fraud.' The life I led prior to being sent to prison had been one of a career criminal. At 41-years-old, I had been a criminal for over twenty-five years. LIVED WELL AND NEVER HAD A LEGITIMATE ...

Great Books for History Buffs going to London!
I am an American who loves the UK and its history. Next time I go and visit London (regardless of bombings), I plan to take this book with me. For those of you who have read of famous and infamous areas in Regency and Victorian London and wondered exactly how to find them now, this is the book for you. I have read my share of Dickens years ago so I also find all the many Dickensian facts and ...

As close to the real story of Jack the Ripper as you're likely to get
Anyone interested in "Jack the Ripper" will surely find this book to be of interest. As a matter of fact, I found it more interesting than any of the previous books I have read about this most famous of all murderers. Each of those books had a story to tell and something to prove, but, although convincing, they didn't necessarily tell the whole story or perhaps even the real story. This book ...

"Just let go."
After reading a rave review of this CD in a national magazine, I decided to try it myself. Though I did everything "wrong," I still enjoyed it and found the guided meditations interesting, fun--and very relaxing! Ideally, the stressed-out listener will sit in a quiet, darkened room or someplace where there will be no interruptions. The female guide then speaks in a soft, slow voice with ...

Great Toddler Book!
We received a set of three of these for my son when he was one and a half. They are marvelous! The pages are very sturdy and the tabs are easy to slide, even for little hands. I kept one of these books in my diaper bag at all times to keep my son occupied when I was at the grocery store or at a restaurant. These books are a great idea for any toddler!
