I like reading this to my kids (aged 7 & 6). Cute book: "sloppy, choppy, gooey and gloppy" that kind of stuff.. Full of layers; this on that, that on this and so on... He's a creative cook; building a pizza - but oh how sad an ending for Pat; poor Pat! Yet it's a happy ending for others.

An early reader (5-6) will find this a challenging bit of fun to read, outside of the usual "see spot run" fare. Later readers (7+) will find it a good introduction to the biology of the human immune system. As my six yearold who has read the book 50+ times, says, "this book is super-sensational, what-a-creational deadly dangerous stuff"
