The Skills Your Grandparents Had, But You Probably Don't
Until I checked this book out of the library, I had rarely given a thought to getting "back to basics," that is learning how to be more self-sufficient. After I read the book, I soon bought it, because it opened my eyes to the many ways that I am almost entirely dependent upon others for my basic needs. "Back to Basics" is a helpful guide for those who want to get away from it all and live ...

Robert Dolezal

Readers Digest, 1991

Easy way to play 100 unforgettable hits
There are a hundred reasons why I love this book and would recommend it to anyone. 1...It has the notes, the chords and best of all it has the easy numbering system where c is 1 ; d is 2; e is 3 ; f is 4; etc........2...don't let the easy numbering system discourage you.....the opposite is true......if you have some initial success playing show tunes and old favorites you will continue playing ...

Treasury of great showtunes (Reader's Digest Songbook)2 reviews
Robert Dolezal

Readers Digest, 1993

Fantastic arrangements: gorgeous chords, not hard to play
A good collection of songs, but what makes this collection really shine are the arrangements. Non-standard, gorgeous chord sequences, rhythmic interest, but still reasonably easy to play. And fun to sing along with.My favorite songbook for sight-reading practice.

Jesus and His Times (Reader's Digest Books)5 reviews
Robert Dolezal

Readers Digest, 1987

Awesome Book!
I only rated this book at 5 stars because I couldn't go any higher. To think I got a copy of it for $.01 (a penny) plus shipping is unreal. Talk about a steal! This is one of the best books about the life and times of our Lord Jesus Christ that you'll ever find. The pictures of the Holy Land alone are worth it but there's so much more. By all means, get your copy NOW!!!!

Robert Dolezal

Readers Digest, 1986

A Piano Player's Delight!
If you play the piano - and it doesn't have to be professionally - but just for your own amusement, this book is for you. The arrangements are excellent and not too hard to play. But what I like best are the little details and background material that is included with each song. So interesting. Annie

Reader's Digest Illustrated Great World Atlas2 reviews
Robert Dolezal

Readers Digest, 1997

A great atlas, except...
I agree with the Reference Editor's assessment: the topographical maps are informative, large and easy to read. And each map page includes a very convenient inset showing that page's relative position to other maps.My one complaint is that the index locates place names by their grid coordinates, rather than by latitude and longitude. I find this an unfortunate omission not only by this ...

Unforgettable Musical Memories (Reader's Digest Songbook)1 review
Robert Dolezal

Readers Digest, 1984

The Reader's Digest Children Songbook
This book is a wonderful compilation of many unavailable children's songs and now makes my collection complete. My only reservation is the lack of a CD or cassette as accompaniment to the book. This would be a fantastic aid for those of us who don't read music, but would like to use the book as a classroom teaching tool.

After Jesus: The Triumph of Christianity3 reviews
Robert Dolezal

Readers Digest, 1993

Church History for the average person in the street...
I think this book presents the earliest periods of Church history, from Jesus Christ to 600 AD, in a very readable and entertaining manner. The book will suit everybody, but particularly the average reader, who might lack formal theological training. By the average person, I mean someone whose knowledge of Church history might only extend back to when his or her pastor was born, but who has a ...

User Friendly Dictionary!
As a college student studying Spanish at an advanced level, I'm always looking out for the perfect Spanish dictionary. This is not a dictionary for beginners--it is written for native speakers and has NO English. However, if you are fairly proficient (no need to be fluent) this is a *great* dictionary. It is especially useful for reading literature and also for writing, especially when you ...

The Reader's Digest Country and Western Songbook2 reviews
Robert Dolezal

Readers Digest, 1983

Songs you love to sing to yourself or with friends
This book contains the great old country-western songs, from back when country-western was truly country-western and not just another rock n' roll mutant. These are the songs that are fun to sing, and that you CAN sing, with simple yet fun arrangements for the musically challenged. After only one exposure to this book, I was belting out a fairly good rendition of "Back In The Saddle Again," ...
