TERMINAL
Robin Cook's medical thriller TERMINAL was so amazing, that it is hard to put into words. His use of medical knowledge really shows through in this novel and many of his others. When I first picked up this book I was expecting it to be interesting but a slow read, and I was not expecting to understand it at all. Let's just say that I have never been more wrong in my entire life. This book was ...

Fever-the biograhy for sick children.
The beginning of this book markets as more as a medical research book than a thriller, but it quickly takes off. The plot is very simple but thrilling. A man's daughter has developed a form of leukemia and he must find the source before it kills her and other children around him. This was Cook's 4th novel and it was one of his most exciting. Its one of my top 5 favorites but none of his books can ...

Robin Cook

Think twice about your next "elective" surgery!
Robin Cook, once again, takes a medical marvel, genetic marking, and turns it into a suspenseful roller-coaster ride. Dr's. Jack Stapleton and Laurie Montgomery are medical examiners for the city of New York. They are also lovers, but Laurie starts questioning their relationship when she verbalizes a desire to start a family and Jack, who lost his first wife and their daughter, isn't excited ...

Root of all evil vs. Laurie, Jack, and usual cast
I may be predjudiced because Robin Cook has been my favorite diversion for many years, but I was surprised by all the bad reviews this book got. I particularly like the Laurie and Jack books and thought this was at least as good as any before. As, a chemical engineer (doctor) / wannabe MD (REAL doctor), I also read Cook to learn something more about medical technology. I wonder if the bad reviews ...

Quick paced
I find it hard to put the book down. Robin Cook again used his great skill of mixing humor with suspense.

One of Cook's Best!!!
This is one of my favorite Robin Cook books. This rather prophetically scary story weaves together genetic engineering and cloning in humans and primates. Given rapid advances in modern technology, a story like this not only could come true any day, but do we really have any idea whether something like this is actually happening, without general public knowledge of it??? Think about it.

One of his best!
Robin Cook didn't write this 436 page thriller for any other reason than to give his fans another great summer escape. Loved this book. It's a fast and simple read and a break from the typical N.E. locales. Love his books.

The Orion Mystery: Unlocking the Secrets of the Pyramids. A Revolutionary New Interpretation of the Ancient ...34 reviews

AMAZING
Next to Grahm Hancock, Robert Bauval is the creme de la creme of astro-archeology. Everything you thought you knew about the pyramids is WRONG. In the future the work of Bauval and Hancock is the marker that determines our understanding of ancient works like The Great Pyramid. We are in a 'new age' of understanding our past thanks to the works of geniuses like Bauval and Hancock. AMAZING

Very Satisfied!
This book was completely new and arrived in just a few days, right in time for my trip overseas. I ordered it on a whim, but it turned out to be a very good investment because I love the book!

Robin Cook

MACMILLAN, 2006

GET ME TO THE CHURCH ON TIME
Robin Cook is the grand-daddy of the medical thriller, but in Crisis he veers into the arena of the legal thriller, and not with the best effect. This book has some problems, particularly in the plotting. Quick facts of the case: Dr. Craig Bowman is being sued for medical malpractice after he made a house call to a "problem patient" who was apparently dying of a heart attack, rather than ...

One of my top 3 favorite Robin Cook thrillers!!!
Godplayer, along with Chromosome 6 and Mutation, are my 3 top favorite Robin Cook medical thrillers to date (and I've read about 50% of his novels so far). This story takes an in-depth look into the life of a cardiac surgeon whose life is torn by narcissism, egoism, power, greed, adultery, and drugs.

IF YOUR ONLY GONNA READ ONE BOOK IN YOUR LIFETIME...
I'm not exactly a huge fan of Robin Cook. I actually never heard of him until I read this. I read a lot of books, and I think this is the best I've ever read. I'm not even into the whole medicine thing but I found this book most interesting on many levels. He slowly builds up the suspence until you just can't take it anymore! I finished reading this book in less than a day. I couldn't put ...

Some HMOs are just Murder?
Manhatten General Hospital seems to be a dangerous place to be hospitalized in. During a ninety-six hour period nine people have succumbed to not one, not two but three extremely rare diseases, especially for New York City. Jack Stapleton is the New York city Medical Examiner who discovered these occurrences in the course of performing autopsies upon the victims and while no one has questioned ...

Cook goes after corporate medicine again
Robin Cook sticks with his strong suit-the lone individual doctor going after evil corporate medicine. While the plot is not one of the more believable--his protagonists do some pretty illogical things--it makes for some harrowing and enjoyable reading. Marissa Blumenthal makes a return from a previous book, but this time she is not only the white knight, she is also the victim. Really engaging ...

Sphinx- What Egypt is really like...
This was Robin Cook's 3rd novel and it is very different from his rest. This book is about a young college student who goes to Egypt for a assignment and ends up getting more information then she asked for. A cult, a terrorist group, and an ancient entity all add up to a thrilling climax that will make you think for days. By all means, read this book!

from a high school standpoint.
Recommended by a teacher, Robin Cook, the first novel that caught my attention was Brain, my first Cook book too. this book had it all. I'm not a reader at all, and I dont usual enjoy it, but this book kept my interest and I couldn't put it down! Brain gives an amazing sense of imagery. Confusing, but you get the hang of it. I would DEFINITELY recommend it to anyone who wants a quick intense read!

Captivating, Scary, Sad
This book was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn't put down because it really drew me in. I was anxious to see if the father ever was able to find out why his girl died. It was about meat contamination and the scary part was that it was so believable that it could really happen. Karen Arlettaz Zemek, Author of "My Funny Dad, Harry"

This is, by far, my favorite Robin Cook book. Just the thought of using modern genetic engineering technology to create the child of your dreams is fascinating (and, scary!) Excellent story with a shocking ending!
