Anatomy of the Ship. The Battleship Warspite1 review
Ross Watton

Naval Institute Press, 1986

Everything you need to know about this ship.
The Battleship "Warspite" was one of 5 ships of the Queen Elizabeth class and went on to serve with great distinction in World War 1 (including the Battle of Jutland) and World War 2 before finally being scrapped in 1947. Today, almost 60 years after she fired her last shot in anger (10 September 1944 off Le Havre), there are those who will remember serving on this magnificent ship and others who ...

The Cruiser "Belfast" (Anatomy of the Ship)2 reviews
Ross Watton

Naval Inst Pr, 1985

Fought two wars and still in existance
The Belfast was the Largest British cruiser of WWII, and went on to fight in Korea. This is the sixth in the Anatomy of the ship series and the first by WATTON. Like all of the series it has impeccable detail covers all aspects of the ship. Perfect for modellers but not the most detailed of the series, but it does dwell on armament and accomodation. Hard to find.

The Battleship "Warspite" (Anatomy of the Ship)4 reviews
V.E. Tarrant

Conway Maritime Press Ltd, 2002

A fitting Tribute to a Grand old Lady
The Warspite was one of the Royal Navy's most famous ships that saw action in both the First and Second World Wars. Launched in 1913 she was severely damaged at the Battle of Jutland after taking thirteen hits. She actually did an infamous 720o turn in front of the entire German High Seas Fleet and survived. In the Second World War Warspite was bomb damaged in 1942 and repaired in the ...

Cunard Liner "Queen Mary" (Anatomy of the Ship)2 reviews
Ross Watton

Conway Maritime Press Ltd, 1989

Another facinating reference
Unlike the rest of the series, this is the only book to cover a cruise liner. A great addition in that it looks at the enormous complexity of an ocean liner in words, diagrams, photos and in hand drawn rendtions of how the interior looked. Part of the true collectors editions in ship design.

The Aircraft Carrier Victorious3 reviews
Ross Watton

Conway Maritime Press, 1991

The detail personifies the series
This book is magnificent. This vessel served nearly four decades. The detail shows lines drawings of every refit, every aircraft, how the arresting wires and catapaults worked, the life boats and all armaments. Wonderful. The most photographs of all this series that I have seen.

Kings and Queens (Hotshots Series)2 reviews
Philippa Wingate

E.D.C. Publishing, 1996

A good thing in a small package.
At 32 pages, total, this is more like a pamphlet than a book. At the time I posted this review, used copies were available for 98 cents plus shipping. At this price, don't expect exhaustive coverage of the subject. However, for a quickie look at the subject, this is very nicely done. There are color pictures on every page. The monarchs covered include Akhenaten, Nefertiti, King Tut, ...
