Awesome workbook for homeschoolers!
I bought this book to help my son improve his reading comprehension and writing skills over the summer. The lessons are a bit challenging for him, but we sit down and discuss them together and when he gets stuck, we work our way out of the rut together. It teaches him about notetaking and making connections and reading deep for added insight. It is the best book I've seen for teaching kids ...

This book is a must for elementary school students.
I am a fourth grade teacher in California. I first saw this book about 5 years ago and bought a few copies for my class to use. I was amazed at how it fascinated the students even though it was a writer's handbook. It was in constant demand during our daily sustained silent reading time. The book is colorful and inviting and contains a wealth of information besides just general writing how ...

Do you have a young writer in your house?
This is a superb book if you have an aspiring writer or just a child who likes to use words. It is laid out in a cute, fun and easy to read style. The pictures are delightful! Even if your child is a bit resistant to reading this book, the pictures will engage him or her. You and your child will find such helpful information. He'll learn how to pick a subject and how to proofread a final draft. ...

Educational Basics
Of course John Locke's tabula rasa has been more or less debunked by the cognitive revolution of the 20th century, but this work still remains one of the most important works of political education in all of political philosophy. Locke believes that "the minds of children" are turned as easily as the direction of water. His goal is to direct the minds of children in such a way as to lead England ...

Good Book
I bought this book for a Spanish class. The class has finished, but I like the book enough to continue thru the book, on my own. I would recommend this book. Every chapter has a list of around 30 new words to learn, a paragraph written in Spanish using the new words (along with CDs that say the paragraph verbally), then about 6 more pages of questions/hints/tips.

Very funny for the whole family
When my daughter brought this book home from school, I never expected to laugh my head off--which I did! Our whole family got a big kick out of it. It's a delightful story that's all the more funny because it really happened. If you've ever lived in a small mid-West town, you'll find it especially charming and familiar. Little Ruthie tries so hard to please her parents and they keep their cool ...

A must for all children!
This is one of the best all around resource books for younger elementary children that I have ever come across. It covers many areas in many subjects in the simplest way possible. My granddaughter uses it for all of her classes and she is home schooled.
