Handbag Friends8 reviews
Sue Heap, Sally Lloyd-Jones

David Fickling Books, 2005

Who wouldn't love a pink handbag?
No girl I know...especially those under 10. My two-year-old granddaughter was immediately captivated by the book and wanted it read to her every night at bedtime. It's got everything...cute characters, a not-too-scarey villain, and a singalong theme song even the most muscially challenged can manage. What fun to carry it with you, too, in its chic packaging! A winner.

Bib Child's First Bible (Baby's First Series)2 reviews
Sally Lloyd-Jones

Standard Pub, 1998

Sweet, thoughtful illustrations and wording
This sweet, easy to read and easy to understand Bible will be great to read to your kids and when they're old enough, to read for themselves. The book is far from a word-for-word translation - rather a child's synopsis of major characters. Adam & Eve, Noah, Joseph, Daniel in the lions' den, etc. Each story is summarized in one page, with easy to grasp wording. The illustrations are absolutely ...

My Merry Christmas: And the Real Reason for Christmas Joy2 reviews
Linda Clearwater

Standard Publishing Company, 2003

A Real Christmas book
This brightly illustrated book does a wonderful job explaining different Christmas symbols: lights, Christmas trees, angels, and presents; in light of the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus' birth. My 3-year-old son loves this book and asks for it more than he does the Santa Claus books. This book has helped me to have conversations with my children about Jesus as we enjoy all of our Christmas ...

Tiny Bear's Bible2 reviews
Sally Lloyd-Jones

Zonderkidz, 2007

Precious way to introduce bible stories to little ones!
I purchased 2 of these and couldnt be more pleased. My 10 month old nephew loves the fuzzy cover and enjoys the the stories being read to him. The other went to our 3 year old cousin. It is very age appropriate and is a wonderful way to introduce the Bible. This is my new baby gift, I will give one to every child I know.

Time to Say Goodnight2 reviews
Sally Lloyd-jones

HarperCollins, 2006

A wonderful book!
In the middle of this book the animals turn to the child looking at the pictures and tell them it's THEIR TURN to go to sleep. My children love this clever twist, and they love the rhyming text and beautiful artwork. A hit!

Sally Lloyd-Jones

Great Book
I bought this book as a birthday present for my 6 year son. We read it everynight and he seems to really enjoy it. It inspires lots of questions from him.

How To be A Baby . . . By Me, The Big Sister13 reviews
Sally Lloyd-Jones

Schwartz & Wade, 2007

Hilarious!
Some of the lines had me laughing so hard! Perfect balance of showing annoyance and love toward a younger sibling...which is such a reality for older siblings. Sometimes, they just get annoyed with the baby, but that never means the overwhelming love (that they can't even grasp yet WHY they have it) goes away. A definite plus (and thankfully not the focus, since that's not the point of the ...

Little One, We Knew You'd Come4 reviews
Sally Lloyd-Jones

Little, Brown Young Readers, 2006

Sumptuous, delicious illustrations with sweet text
Jackie Morris' illustrations touch the deep, indigenous wells of the soul and capture the essence of the animals and humans she portrays. Her depiction of the Holy Family are outstanding and made me unable to withdraw my eyes or interest. The book layout and design is gorgeous and feels like a gift from both artist and publisher. The story is sweet, simple and able to touch all people, all ...

Old MacNoah Had an Ark (HarperBlessings)1 review
Sally Lloyd-jones

HarperCollins, 2008

My grand toddler's favorite book
My granddaughter is 15 months old and loves Old MacDonald Had a Farm. After I bought Old McNoah for her, it quickly became her favorite book. She has a library of about 15 books (and growing!). When I ask her to get a book for me to read, she invariably gets Old McNoah. The pictures are eye catching and the sounds are even better. Whereas Old McDonald has a moo moo here and there, Old McNoah ...

Lift-the-Flap Bible (Lift-the-Flap Book)3 reviews
Sally Lloyd-Jones

Reader's Digest, 2000

captured our hearts
This book captured my heart as well as my 2 year-old daughter. She was delighted with the many flaps and richly toned warm illustrations outlining the Bible stories she loves. I was impressed with the darling details of illustrations and loved how each Bible story was briefly narrated in a story format in a toddler-friendly tone. References for where the story can be found was another ...

Bible Friends: Who Says That? (Bible Friends Lift-The-Flap)1 review
Sally Lloyd-Jones

Concordia Publishing House, 2001

This book is a good choice for toddlers
I am very sorry to see that this book is out of print. I use this book every Sunday with my two year olds in Sunday School, and they absolutely love it. They can be very active, but as soon as I bring out Who's Hiding? and say "It's story time!", they come and sit down around me. They love to help me read by lifting the flaps on the pages. This simple and well-written book gives toddlers a ...

My Promise Rainbow: And the Story of Noah's Ark (Baby Blessings)3 reviews
Sally Lloyd Jones

Standard Publishing Company, 2002

A Great Learning Opportunity
The books I've read by Sally Lloyd-Jones have never let me down, and My Promise Rainbow is no exception. This board book tells the tale of Noah's ark, but in an unusual way. There is no chronological telling of the familiar biblical story...No mention of God telling Noah to build a big boat, no explanation given for why God flooded the world. Instead, My Promise Rainbow explains why the rainbow ...
