This is a cute version of the Gingerbread Man books, but in the Hawaii's stand point. IT's well written, and is a hardcover book. This book made me laugh, and made me remember my childhood growing up on Maui. fun take on Cinderella!
Love the slang and "accent" in this book, illustrations are fun and wacky and in the spirit of the story, and the story is more than just replacing characters from Cindarella with Hawaiian versions like she did in Musubi Man (a much less impressive tale). Plus, it's a boy instead of a girl as the main character and I think that is a great twist for both boys and girls reading it!

Great twist on prince/princess stories
This book is fun for the language/slang and cultural context, as well as the spirited illustrations. One of the best things about it, though, is that it is not some pathetic girl who is saved by a prince. I'm no feminist, but I think a lot of those types of stories don't help girls any; goodness knows there are enough women sorely waiting for their princes to drive up in a Mercedes. This is a ...
