Two dewclaws up!
The illustrations capture the spirit of the stories, and stories themselves capture the spirit of dogs. My dog enjoyed the first story because the word "Walk" was prominent. But I think children would enjoy it even more. I can't wait to read it to my friends.

Terrific book for all ages and species
- What a terrific book! It is ideal for the pet lover, the low-confidence reader, or the Reading Education Assistance Dogs ("See Spot Read" program) Although billed as a children's book, the subtle humor and great illustrations make it a winner for adults as well. I need to buy "Stories you can read to your cat" as well.... wonderful author, great illustrator, an absolute riot.

Good for a curious child, but not for an aspiring aquarist
I was very disapointed with this book. I thought I was getting a guide that would teach me about the care of pipefish and seahorses, but instead I got a "learning to read" childs book. This product would be great for a child who wants to learn about odd fish, but is not designed for aquarium keepers or even curious adults at all.
