Clear, precise, impeccable
Access by Design doesn't waste time or words getting right to the point: accessible Web design isn't about those who have an impairment, but rather about everyone using the Web. Access, by Sarah Horton's definition, is the goal of every visitor to a site, and a designer achieves this goal for visitors by ensuring that nothing in a site is tied to a restrictive approach. The fad of rendering ...

Um...I'd read another book instead
Good information. Hard to read and presented boringly -- is that a word? Other books contain the same information. Not horrible, just not great.

Terrific Book-Very Helpful
As a teacher of Religion and History at The Episcopal Academy, I think this book is a terrific, age-appropriate guide for youngsters on the Holy Eucharist. The writing is clear, concise, and helpful and the illustrations are wonderful. I wholeheartedly recommend this book for parents, christian education coordinators, priests, and teachers. Living Buddhist Statues in Early Medieval and Modern Japan
Sarah J. Horton
Palgrave Macmillan
, 2007
Large numbers of Buddhist believers regarded Buddhist statues in surprising ways in late- tenth and early eleventh century Japan. Examination of such questions of functionality contributes to a broader view of Buddhist practice at a time when Buddhism was rapidly spreading among many levels of Japanese society. This book focuses particularly on the function of the following types of images: “secret Buddhas” ( hibutsu ), which are ...

Concise, well focused guide for teachers
I really liked this book for its tight focus on the best design and technology methods for creating educational materials for the Web. Ironically, I like Horton's book for the same reason the previous reviewer didn't: it's tightly focused on Web teaching techniques. I've been teaching for years; I don't need the bloated, wandering discussions of teaching philosophy and academic computing policy ...

FUN AND INFORMATIVE!!
Never would I have thought I, a New York City boy, would need an encylopedia of Iowa. Imagine my surprise when I did - and even greater surprise to find that a) a book like this existed and b) it was an amazing read! Sarah Hutt blends information with entertainment and creates a memorable and complimentary guide to all things Iowan. I'm a fan now!
