Students love it!!
I have my students fill out there poster whenever they are chosen as the Star Student of the week. Each student can present their poster, take a few questions, and then bask in the glory of having their poster hanging in the hall for the week. Also, after the poster has been presented, I have every student write a friendly letter to the Star Student. All letters are made into a booklet that ...

8 year old kids's review of Sarah, Plain and Tall
The story of Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLaclan is a pioneer fiction about a family who needs a mother and a wife, and a lady who needs a home. It is sad, funny, happy, scary, exciting, and keeps me guessing. Jacob Witting needs a helpful, hardworking wife and a mother for his young children Anna and Caleb. He puts an ad for a wife in the newspaper. He receives a response from ...

very useful
This is a fine book for kids to learn and practice English grammars. Many kids read well, but cannot write decent sentences. An early start in grammar makes a big difference. The book supplies well-designed questions and multiple-choice problems to teach and enforce the essential language rules. They are vivid and interesting. My child has a much better writing after using this book. I hope it ...

Great for working with your kids
This gave somthing real concreate and relevant to work with with my son. His writting ability is weak and we actually go to a tutor once a week - but this give us parents something constructive to accomplish with our son between sessions. I recomend it if you are not a gifted tutor but you want to make progress with your child.

Small school
I purchased a number of dictionaries to be used by all the students in a small school. The entries included pronunciation, syllabication, and multiple definitions. They are visually pleasing and thorough enough for third and fourth graders.

what a fine book
This book is great for those kids getting started with independent reading. The authors give great passages and problems specifically for the objectives in the 2nd grade curriculum. The practice items enforce what kids taught in school that otherwise just forgotten. The book offers many fine reading comprehension and vocabulary exercises. Your kids can never have too much of them. I like such ...

50 States Quarters Platinum2 reviews

Tangerine Press, 2007

Nice Quarter Folder
I have bought several different quarter folders - trying to find the best one for my grandchildren- this is the VERY BEST ONE- I plan to replace all my previously purchased coin folders with this one. The quarters fit nicely - and there is a little finger area to lift each coin out if you want to look at it or reposition it. I have not been nearly as happy with any other folder. They are either ...

Scholastic Success with Tests: Reading Workbook Grade 3 (Grades 3)3 reviews

effective test preparation
In the past, I did not feel like children should use test workbooks this early. After we enrolled in Beestar weekly reading program (an excellent web site http://www.beestar.org), we realize that there are so many kids doing so well. No wonder the standard tests keep raising the bar. A low expectation from parents only leads to low achieving children. This book boosts your child's vocabulary, ...

The usual math workbook
This was just a usual workbook with no instructions on math. This book is only for math you already know and need extra work to help learn. You can buy these in the grocery store or Walmart every day. Nothing extraordinary, but at least it has answers.

Great compendium for the curious child!
My eight-year-old does not enjoy reading, but she can sit with this book for an hour, looking at the pictures and learning about many different topics. She has the Scholastic Illustrated Dictionary as well, which is also a favorite.

enjoy the activities
This fun resource provides engaging practice and reinforcement for the essential math skills that kids need to command. My son enjoyed this book, especially those patterns and brain-teassing puzzles. They draw kids' curiosity and push them to apply the basic concepts learned from school. I believe kids need more problem-solving practice to master math skills. In addition to this book, we use ...

Just the right size
Great for homeschooling. Good sized boxes allow me to put a short journal entry for a subject or for little ones' larger handwriting. A more durable cover would be a plus, but it's not overly large, thick or heavy.

Excellent worksheets
AS a substitute teacher, I see lots of textbooks and math worksheets for elementarty students. I ordered this when I was tutoring a 4th grader. The book does a good job of covering 4th grade material and presenting each concept in various ways. Besides core worksheets, it comes with plenty of puzzles to suppliment the topics Topics are not as precisely organized as I would have thought but ...

Good reinforcement for Fractions
We follow the DK publishing for Math. After teaching the basic math - addition, substraction, multiplication and division, I was stuck with teaching Fractions to my kids. I was looking something exclusive on Fractions and this book fills that gap. Plenty of Practice and it saved me good time.
