The Moral of the Story: Folktales for Character Development3 reviews
Bobby Norfolk, Sherry Norfolk

August House Publishers, 2006

A much needed book
This is an excellent book. As a storyteller I know the impact that stories can have on kids, and this book fills a need that many storytellers have for a thoughtful discussion of stories that teach moral principles. As a parent, I know the importance of a moral education for our children, and this book provides an example for any parent on how to use stories to discuss moral issues. The ...

Anansi and the Pot of Beans (Story Cove: a World of Stories)1 review
Bobby Norfolk, Sherry Norfolk, 2007

A great laugh!
Anansi stories are always interesting because the spider trickster is always landing in some kind of adventure or trouble...many time of his own greedy, impulsive design. My three-year-old nephew loves for us to read this story to him at bedtime. He loves Grandma Spider and her delicious pot of spicy beans, which lures the silly, ever-hungry Anansi to her kitchen. My nephew finds it amusing ...

Awesome pictures
The story is very cute and clever. The artist did an amazing job of really bringing the story to life. The expressions on Billy Brown's face are wonderful. I hope to see more of this artist!

The Storytelling Classroom: Applications Across the Curriculum1 review
Sherry Norfolk, Jane Stenson, ...

Libraries Unlimited, 2006

A book with vision
I am a storyteller and trainer. This book does what some other good books don't quite do in terms of teaching and showing all of us how to integrate stories effectively into class curriculum. I wish that all teachers and student teachers would study this book and implement it. When I am teaching, this book easily helps me find and integrate a teaching story for the lesson that does wonders for ...
