a lovely book
This book has been around for a while (published in 1990) but it is a wonderful and intriguing topic -- how wild birds manage to find places to live and thrill in the city. Beautiful illustrations help to tell the story of all the amazing places and ways that city birds build their nests. Text is rich in information. Any child, young or old, will find this book fascinating, but a city-dwelling ...

A Bit Pricey*
* at $2.37 per chapter ex. tax but possibly worth it if you are obsessed with political thoughts that challenge rather than clavicate you. This book discusses the theological basis of what I call Northeastern aseo-nonistic-slave society. Anyone who questions the religious self-righteousness of the inside crowd in Washington D.C. should read this book because it highlights the contradictions ...

Must own for any fans of Galen or the outdoors
If you have every looked at Galen's photos and wanted to see more, this is it. With his life cut short, at least we still have archived material that can be released in a book this nice to bring us more glimpses of his world. The color is amazing, the subjects grand, and Galens storys bring it all alive in my livingroom.

Wonderful book on Peace!
I used this book to tie up the values and ideas that Martin Luther King Jr. represented. The students then painted pictures of peaceful situations. This led to a discussion about peace. A boy from Eritrea said that Ethiopians were bad and didn't want to be peaceful. He was shocked when he learned that one of his best friends in the class was Ethiopian. He learned that some Ethiopians are ...

okay, but needs updating
I found this to be a decent source of information on basic hiking and backpacking skills, but felt it was somewhat lacking in detail. I picked up a few good tips here and there, but anyone looking for detailed information on the topics covered in this book would be better off looking elsewhere. Also, the book is starting to show signs of age, especially in the chapter on equipment - example; ...
