Simon Bisley's Illustrations From The Bible: A Work in Progress2 reviews
Simon Bisley

Heavy Metal Magazine, 2007

Bisley Bible art
If you like the Bible, both Old Testatment and the New and the images it brings up or you are just a Bisley fan you'll love this book. I happen to be both. Bisley evokes great feelings with his images and there's a uniqueness in Bisely's interpretation that still feels and draws on the traditional biblical images. its a great addition to my art book collection and my Bisley collection.

Lobo: Portrait of a Bastich2 reviews
Keith Giffen, Alan Grant, ...

DC Comics, 2007

Giffen and Biz at his (naive) best
The story is out of mind and Bisley art, raw, naive but powerful is perfect for the themes and the character. great fun and maybe the best Lobo stories of all time!

Fistful of Blood1 review
Simon Bisley, Kevin Eastman

Heavy Metal Magazine, 2002

Sergio Leone Meets George Romero As Softcore Porn/Splatter
The title of this review pretty much sums up Fistful of Blood, the grisley, pointless, yet strangely entertaining new book by Kevin Eastman (Of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame) and Simon Bisley (Lobo, Slaine, Judge Dredd). The attractive, relatively low-priced hardcover by Heavy Metal books tells the near-future tale of a gorgeous blonde woman who stumbles (Buck-naked, of course) into a desert ...

Frank Miller's Bad Boy HC (Miller Cover)
Frank Miller, Simon Bisley

Dynamite Entertainment, 2008

Dynamite Entertainment proudly presents a brand-new hardcover production of Bad Boy by Frank Miller and Simon Bisley! Bad Boy features Jason, a little boy who comes to realize his parents aren't his parents, and that he's part of a sterile experimental community. Originally produced as a strip for the British Edition of GQ, Bad Boy is now a powerful piece of graphic fiction as only Miller and Bisley can produce!

Bodycount3 reviews

Heavy Metal Magazine, 2008

not yer toddler's turtles
I can't tell if the other "pop-up" review is an excellent joke, or a stupid mistake. In either case, do a little googling on Kevin Eastman's Bodycount and you'll find that the only things "popping out" in this book are bad guys' eyeballs and babe's bazungas... aka NOT for kids 3 - 6. The book is a completely different take on the turtles, presented in a hyper-violent, hyper-sexualized style. ...

The Art of Simon Bisley Redux3 reviews
Simon Bisley

Heavy Metal Magazine, 2007

not so many additions but it's Biz!
Not so much different from the original hc version. If you only buy this one anyway it's a great book full of great art. Biz is one of the best fantasy painters around!

Slaine: The Horned God (2000ad Presents)2 reviews
Pat Mills, Simon Bisley

Titan Books (UK), 2003

Best of the current 2000AD offerings
One of the best stories to have come out of long-running British comic 2000 AD is Slaine, the ale-swilling, axe-wielding, trouble-making Celtic hero who wanders the lands of Tir Nan Og having all sorts of adventures. The stories were classics: a rich storyline, great action and some truly outstanding art by Mike McMahon. This book is Part Two (of Two) of the Horned God series and teams up Pat ...

Simon Bisley 2008 Calendar1 review

Heavy Metal Magazine, 2007

Bisley's Beast
Can't find this type of calendar in your normal stores. Amazon offered this and other fantasy artist type calendars at a resonable price. If you like Bisley's work you can enjoy all year and cut out the pictures and year end for framing.

Illustrations from the Bible: A Work in Progress1 review
Simon Bisley

Heavy Metal Magazine, 2004

Absolutely Incredible
Simon Bisley is rivaled only by greats such as Alex Ross and H. R. Giger in terms of painterly ability. This undertaking is absolutely stunning. Most of the book is drawings, which we rarely seem to see, so seeing the process is wonderful. The imagery Bisley depicts in this book is simply awesome. Depicting several Biblical scenes Bisley does what he does best. The raw emotion exerted and ...
