Lloyd: What Happened: A Novel of Business22 reviews
Stanley Bing

Vintage, 1999

One of my favorite books
I wish there were more books as funny as this one. I can still quote a few passages from it, and it has been a few years since i last read it. Especially if you've been involved in any large corporation, you will especially appreciate the absurdities, but it's just an incredibly funny book. I used to read Stanly Bing in Esquire and I just love his writing. I wish there were more like this!!

The Big Bing: Black Holes of Time Management, Gaseous Executive Bodies, Exploding Careers, and Other Theories ...7 reviews
Stanley Bing

Collins Business, 2006

Bing is the thinking man's Dilbert
This book was hysterical. Anyone who has ever worked in an office or a giant corporation will identify with the situations and the characters he so vividly brings to life. Plus, he has the best made up last names I've ever come across, but the funny thing is you know exactly who he's talking about. I may not fly with the chairman on the corporate jet, but I relate to most everything he writes ...

Executricks: Or How to Retire While You're Still Working3 reviews
Stanley Bing

Collins Business, 2008

Look around your Organization!
I love Stanley Bing and I throughly enjoyed this book. If you don't believe what he writes - look around your organizations. How many Executives develop an arrogance attitude, take 1 1/2 hour lunches, travel to look important. I love the Blackberry, you can make it look like you are working and off on vacation. This must be the season for these type of books, which are opening up the hidden ...

Crazy Bosses and Sun Tzu CD

HarperAudio, 2007

The ancient Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu taught that readiness is all, that knowledge of oneself and the enemy is the foundation of strength, and that those who fight best are those wise enough not to fight at all. These people were revered and known as "warrior-sages." Now, we refer to them as "suckers." Sun Tzu Was a Sissy teaches you how to wage war, win, and enjoy the plunder in the real world. Students of Master Stanley Bing will learn how ...

100 Bullshit Jobs...And How to Get Them16 reviews
Stanley Bing

Collins Business, 2007

Good Idea
This book is a great idea-- it shows that there are plenty of jobs out there for the taking if you have a little creativity, and preferably a good sense of humor. Also check out "Odd Jobs: 101 Ways to Make an Extra Buck." It's similar, but has practical tips and advice on getting all sorts of non-nine-to-five jobs, including the good, the bad, and the really bizarre types of employment available. ...

What Would Machiavelli Do? The Ends Justify the Meanness65 reviews
Stanley Bing

Collins Business, 2002

A Strong But Amusing Warning on the Greed, Egotism, Narcissism, and Pure Evil of the Powerful
With this book, businessman and Fortune Magazine columnist Stanley Bing began a long and continuing career of attacking outrageous bosses and managerial practices. There is no shortage of material in these categories, and this book is a good introduction to how rich the field of managerial abuse is. This is not a book for true Machiavelli fans. Those who want to savor the finely nuanced ...

Corporate Politics is War!
This book is very enlightening and cool. Stanley Bing says it like it is. If you wait long enough your enemies will float down river!

Throwing the Elephant: Zen and the Art of Managing Up15 reviews
Stanley Bing

Collins Business, 2003

Working for Peanuts is all very fine!
No really, I mean it. Or anyway, it will be, once you calm yourself, little aphid, and penetrate to the heart of "Throwing the Elephant", Zen Master Stanley Bing's exegesis on the sublime art of applying the infinite wisdom of Siddhartha himself to the sinews, guts, entrails and viscera of the business jungle, and mastering the King of the Beasts himself. No, silly, not the Lion. The ...

Crazy Bosses: Fully Revised and Updated4 reviews
Stanley Bing

Collins Business, 2007

I've had my share...
....of Crazy Bosses! Not only did I have them, I'm sure I was one, too - there's nothing like a corporate environment to bring out interesting tendencies in anyone. When I received an anonymous e-mail at work, with excerpts from this book, I had to have it! Easy to read, written with wit and actual substance, this book (predecessor to the very popular "Who Moved My Cheese?" and "When Smart ...

Rome, Inc.: The Rise and Fall of the First Multinational Corporation (Enterprise)10 reviews
Stanley Bing

W. W. Norton, 2007

Corporation should look at the Roman Empire - Oh Yeah, it is not here any longer!
This is a great book. Tells about the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, sure sounds like Corporate America to me. Corruption and Greed, I love it.

You Look Nice Today: A Novel9 reviews
Stanley Bing

Bloomsbury USA, 2004

perfect
For me, YOU LOOK NICE TODAY was in the couldn't-put-it-down category. My husband felt the same way, so that makes 2. The Publisher's Weekly review does not describe our experience of the book. I don't think many people would call YOU LOOK NICE TODAY a legal thriller, and we certainly didn't find it slow going at any point. The book is a satire of corporate life, and is very, very funny at ...
