Syracuse University: Off the Record - College Prowler (Off the Record)

College Prowler
, 2006
Introduction from the Author Syracuse University may mean different things to different people. To the sports fan, hearing Syracuse will bring up images of SU’s championship basketball team and superstars like Carmelo Anthony, Gerry MacNamara, and Hakim Warrick. For others, hearing Syracuse will automatically bring up thoughts of upstate New York and snowy winters. The true draw of Syracuse University is becoming what is probably the most ...

Excellent reference book
While they have data only up to 2004 and commodity word has changed rather dramatically so since then, it is still great book to check your knowledge of seasonal trends in various markets.

A master at his craft!
I just finished reading "The Grapes of Wrath." Steinbeck's simple but poetic prose shows a mastery of subtlety and expertise. The dialog was very believable and realistic. The period in which J. Steinbeck wrote as did Hemingway was the realism movement, which never really strayed too long into what the characters were thinking or feeling. The characters words on the surface is what portrayed who ...

Subtle and over the top humor...
Arguably the most consistently funny panel since "The Far Side." A great collection. Viva en la bleachers!

Super Reader
This book is actually very good. It is great to have V as a point of view character at times, such as when he sees the unconscious Evey in Jordan Towers, or confronting Creedy underground.. This may well be one of the best 'tie-in' efforts ever produced. Some of the political and other history related to countries other than England is given more detail in the novel.

Anne Frank Diary
As a young adult I had read articles on the book. I knew the story. I saw the movie made from the book. However, I had never read the book itself. The experience of reading the words of Anne as she lived for two year in hiding with her family, and others in hiding, was entirely different than just knowing the story. Reading another persons personal words as they were living the life that ...

Tom, Tom and Jonni in a Racier Title
This book collects the first six issues of the title comic. Each issue has stories about Tom Strong (and supporting cast), Young Tom Strong (while he is still a boy), and the time traveling hero Jonni Future (heir to the mantle of Johnny Future). These stories are racier and more risque that those usually found in the Tom Strong books. For instance, in one story, Tesla Strong sneaks out to ...

Helps kids learn to communicate in English
This is a wonderful series of children's books, using simplified versions of classic stories that families can enjoy together, especially if the deaf child has hearing parents. The signing technique used is Signed English, as opposed to ASL, so there a sign for each part of every sentence. S.E. was developed to teach kids about communication through the English language as well as through sign. ...
