The Big Halloween Scare (Spongebob Squarepants Ready-to-Read) 4 reviews Steven Banks
Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon, 2003
Scaring up nautical fun! SpongeBob finds a perfect way to celebrate Halloween. As usual, SpongeBob finds a way to amaze everyone, including the reader, and offer a funny, scary Halloween tale for us all to enjoy. My 6 yr old is a big SpongeBob fan, as is my 10 year old. They both have enjoyed this book over and over, even past the holiday.

SpongeBob Pops Up! (Spongebob Squarepants) 2 reviews Steven Banks, Gene Vosough
Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon, 2004
Adorable book! This is an absolutely adorable book for the price! Several of the pop-ups are interactive with flaps you can lift and tabs you can pull. One page has a giant jellyfish that pops out! I have purchased many pop-ups and didn't expect something so cute for this small of a price. Highly recommend to any Spongebob or pop-up lover! My 2yr old loves it as well!

Oxford University Press, USA, 2001
Seminal work on violence risk assessment and mental illness In detailing the largest and most significant research study of its type (i.e. The MacArthur Study of Mental Disorder and Violence), Rethinking Risk Assessment describes what is surely to become the seminal work in the area violence and mental illness. The authors point to the methodological flaws in many earlier studies that failed to establish clear links between mental illness and violence. It ...

For the Love of Bubbles (Spongebob Squarepants Chapter Books) 1 review Steven Banks, The Artifact Group
Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon, 2006
Even kindergarteners can love this chapter book We ordered this through the publisher, Scholastic. Since it was for a six-year old, I was disappointed to find that it wasn't a picture book. It was a chapter book with one illustration per chapter.
My son, however, wasn't the least put off by the lack of drawings. For the past few nights, I've read three chapters per night (there are seventeen chapters total). At the end of the three ...

War and Taxes 4 reviews Steven A. Bank, Kirk J. Stark, ...
Urban Institute Press, 2008
Historical perspective on how to increase spending for a war while reducing the revenues to pay for it The authors of this thoughtful work begin with the proposition that there is no precedent for the expenditure of blood and treasure for the last six years of warfare in the Middle East while cutting taxes at the same time. Then, by going all the way back to the War of 1812, they candidly demonstrate that Americans have not always been especially willing to pay higher taxes to finance the ...

King of the Creeps 5 reviews Steven Banks
Knopf Books for Young Readers, 2006
Courtesy of Teens Read Too Tom Johnson is short, has a big nose, and even has frizzy hair to top it all off. Put quite simply, in Tom's own words, he's a Creep. Set against the immediate post-JFK assassination in 1963, Tom finds himself on his way to a local bridge to jump off following a traumatic Creep-related event. But on his way he finds himself staring across at a record of some folk singer that's short, has a big ...

The Complete Book of Everyday Christianity: An A-To-Z Guide to Following Christ in Every Aspect of Life 1 review R. Paul Stevens
Intervarsity Pr, 1997
A remarkable work of incredible scope I have heard Paul Stevens speak and was impressed by his incredible wealth of knowledge. I am pleased to see that he and Robert Banks have got together to share this knowledge with believers in the massive compendium of interesting articles. More than just a series of issues the authors want to speak on, they have brought many well known Christians together to write on everything from politics ...

Welcome to Fifth Grade! (All Grown Up (8x8)) 1 review Steven Banks
Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon, 2005
All Grown Up or Not? I was expecting to see a better story line when I read this book. It was just like when they were babies! Basically, Angelica had Tommy and Chuckie go through this "secret" fifth grade initiation and would have to perform embarassing tasks (see cover). Angelica eventually did tell Tommy and Chuckie that she had tricked them. At the end, some older girls had Angelica do some similar things ...

Gilbert Law Summaries Taxation of Business Entities 3 reviews Steven A. Bank

Succinct and essential Covers the very elemental basics. Good for a challenging class. Don't expect detailed treatment. Section on Partnership taxation is only 58 pages long. There are sections of the IRC Regulations longer than that. Still a good value.

Foundations of Organisational Communication: a Reader 1 review
Guilford Press, 1990
Historical Insight Good; Some Weak Contributions Elsewhere The quality of this book varies as the contributions come from myriad contributors some of whom have more substance and accuracy than others. The historical sections are the strongest part of the book. It helps to see for yourself what a primary source says rather than have another writer "spin" their meaning.
Near the end this strength gives way to bogus content. Substance is replaced with ...
