A Testament of Devotion14 reviews
Thomas R. Kelly

HarperOne, 1996

Pure Essence of Spirituality - Condensed Quaker Belief
I read this book 25 years ago and find that it gives me a feeling of the Inner Light and grounds me in what the spiritual life is all about. It is deeply Christian and yet can resonate with anyone who feels God as a living reality in all religions or no religion. It also touches upon what the Quakers call "consensus", how to let the guiding of the Spirit lead people into an understanding filled ...

Robin Hood and Other Outlaw Tales (Middle English Texts)2 reviews

Western Michigan Univ Medieval, 1997

Welcome to Sherwood! (and Barnsdale)
Do you know need a reason to buy this book? I can give you an excellent one -- it's called the Table of Contents. It lists 700 pages worth of Robin Hood ballads, plays and more. It has the earliest ballads and plays where Robin is merely a yeoman, the first play that casts him as the Earl of Huntington, and later ballads that give the "origins" of Little John, Maid Marian and Will Scarlet. ...

The Racing Bike Book2 reviews
Steve Thomas, Dave Smith, ...

Deneway Guides & Travel Ltd, 1997

Most useful
This book is superb. I couldn`t corner properly until I read the section on cornering, now I can power through at a higher speed than some of my team mates. The training section is particularly useful. Throughout this book makes its points with excellent colour photographs.

The Back Stage Guide to Stage Management9 reviews
Thomas A. Kelly

Back Stage Books, 1991

don't leave home without it
From the minute I picked this book up it has become my "bible". Chock full of helpful tips and funny stories of the author's experiences as a stage manager. Not overly technical - with lots of helpful forms to smooth the way for a production (and the stage manager's nerves)! Have it with you through every show - before, during, after. Bravo! Encore!

Countdown Zero2 reviews
Thomas H. Saffer, Orville E. Kelly

Putnam Pub Group (T), 1982

Of Atomic Veterans and a Shattered Trust
I first read "Countdown Zero" as an undergraduate political science major. Many years later, the book still haunts me. While the prose is easy to read, the subject matter and human context is evocative, unnerving, and disheartening. When you enlist into the military, you agree to relinquish some of your personal rights and freedoms in order to serve and protect your country. Implicit in this ...

Taxation Without Representation2 reviews
Brian W. Kelly

Lets Go Publish!, 2008

Taxation Without Representation is an excellent book!
The premise for Brian Kelly's book Taxation without Representation goes something like this: 1) Once upon a time we began a rebellion against England on the premise that "taxation without representation" was tyranny. Our resistance began with the Boston Tea Party. 2) Today, more than two centuries later, the freedoms fought for by Washington's Army and the Continental Congress and ...

First Nights at the Opera2 reviews
Thomas Forrest Kelly

Yale University Press, 2004

Almost Like Being at the Premiere
Thomas Kelly's FIRST NIGHTS AT THE OPERA is bound to be loved by opera aficionados as well as people just beginning to be fascinated with a musical form that is both intricate and beautiful. Kelly selects five operas: Handel's Gulio Cesare, Mozart's DON GIOVANNI, Mayerbeer's LES HUGUENOTS, Wagner's DAS RHEINGOLD, and Verdi's OTELLO, and brings the readers to their premieres. Kelly gives us ...

Climb Another Mountain6 reviews
Donna S. Thomas, Arthur Kelly

Warner Press, 2000

Climb Another Mountain
Because of Donna Thomas, I've stooped in the hot afternoon sun of India to give a cup of cool water and a ladle of steaming rice to lepers in India. I've seen the orphan children who were left to die in the streets now learning to read and write in the classrooms of the children's homes. I've walked with barefoot pastors into those remote villages and watched the light shine in the eyes of the ...

Sacred Landscape And Pilgrimage in Tibet: In Search of the Lost Kingdom of Bon1 review
Gesha Gelek Jinpa, Charles Ramble, ...

Abbeville Press, 2005

There's also a DVD included !!
Very intriguing quest for the lost empire of Shang Shung, sacred land of Dzog-Chen according to the Bon religion of Tibet, accompanied by heart-fulfilling pictures and a beautiful commentary. There's also a DVD sleeved in the back flap of the book that puts in motion picture the whole book thru the gracious words of the commentators and the Bon lamas. The DVD alone is worth half the price of the ...

Patent License Agreements Line by Line: A Detailed Look at Patent License Agreements and How to Change Them ...1 review
Kelly L. Frey Sr., Thomas J. Hall

Clear and concise
As with the previous book by these two authors, the language is clear and concise. While written to address legal issues, the language is understandable by anyone in the business community. Well done.

The Mortgage Manual1 review
Don Debat, Thomas A. Kelly

Contemporary Books, 1989

A no-nonsense, easy to read eference
I really enjoyed this book. Contrary to many other "manuals", this one has nothing that's unneeded or unimportant - no watery phrases, no stupid stories - just up to the point, precise information on subjects such as sources of the mortgage money, reading the fine print, ARMs, FHA and VA loans. It even includes Ammortization and Loan Progress Tables..And it's very easy to read and understand!

Hara Publishing Group, 1995

Excellent reference guide
I found this book to be very entertaining, as well as an enlightened take on Thomas E. Kelly's "new brand" of existentialism. It made the philosophy interesting and accessible. I highly recommend it.

AN ARCHITECT'S PARIS1 review
Thomas Carlson-Reddig

Pavilion Books, 1993

Nostalgic walking tour of Paris
If you love Paris and it has been awhile since you have been there then, read this book. The author is knowledgeable, and his drwaings are as charming as your memories, It was handy to use as a reference, except there is no reference mechanism, you have to remember where you read the part you are interested in. Read it before you go to set yourself for the trip or after, again and again, to ...

Celebrating LIFE with flowers
This book made me think about both the beauty of flowers and people. The author is a professional designer who shares his love of flowers and floral designing. He explains how people use flowers for all kinds of occasions and how to design bouquets to express feelings. This is an excellent, well-written book that is very helpful and informative.
