A fascinating book with Peters' exuberant, jazzy style!!
This book presents a strategy for meeting the uncertainty of the current competitive markets through creating customer responsiveness, pursuing fast-paced innovation, achieving flexibility by empowering people, learning to work in an environment of change, abandoning conventional wisdom, and the reconceiving of organizational systems. Tao Le, Peter Chin-Hong, ...

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2008

Very useful
This book contains a lot of excellent tables, algorithms and summaries that I could not find in any other review book. It seems to be a great companion while doing review questions. I also found this book to be an outstanding source when I prepared for work rounds to teach the interns and students. I can highly recommend this book to all residents. I wish I had it when I started my residency.

The Brand You 50 : Or : Fifty Ways to Transform Yourself from an 'Employee' into a Brand That Shouts ...60 reviews
Tom Peters

Knopf, 1999

Well Worth a Read.
"Take control of your career by standing out as your unique self" is the point of this book. If you're going to read anything on personal branding, start with this book as Tom was the first to ever use the term "Personal Branding." His books are always worth reading despite his annoying endless upbeat optimism, foo!ish use on end!ess !!!!!!, TOO MANY CAPS, and font mania. A short book, but ...

What to do right to make your projects work, even if it may appear to be wrong
I have been a fan of Tom DeMarco and Tim Lister for some time, their insights into the right way to manage information technology (IT) projects could be entitled, "The Way It Should Be Done." In this book, they are joined by their colleagues in the Atlantic Systems Guild to describe 86 project patterns, some of which you would enjoy being used to describe how you do things and others that you ...

Design (Tom Peters Essentials)7 reviews
Tom Peters

DK ADULT, 2005

Finally, a business book that actually follows it's own recommendations
"Design" by Tom Peters proves what the author is preaching...It is possible to redesign your business and everything in it. The book itself, without reading a word, makes the point. Every other business book is much the same in two unfortunate ways. First, most are "one trick" ponies that have a central theme that is repeated in mind numbing variations. Second, business books are just like ...

The Circle of Innovation: You Can't Shrink Your Way to Greatness54 reviews
Tom Peters

Vintage, 1999

Entrepreneurs --wake up & THINK
Peters is definitely one of my favorite authors. His insights on innovation offer me constant inspiration as I write my own newsletter - titled Byvation, which means ... By Way of Innovation. In a dramatic opening, Tom Peters says it's all about "I-N-N-O-V-A-T-I-O-N." Peters is a legendary business guru for good reason, he tells it like it is. In "Circle of Innovation" Peters talks about how ...

Trends (Tom Peters Essentials)6 reviews
Tom Peters, Martha Barletta

DK ADULT, 2005

Why there's a Battle of the Sexes
I work in Account Planning for an ad agency and also lead a Men's Ministry for my church and I found this book extremely helpful in showing why men and women disagree on how to approach things. It's especially good when combined with David Murrow's "Why Men Don't Go To Church". When I showed a group of blue collar, non-Marketing educated, men the info in both books, I got nothing but agreement. I ...

Principles of Development4 reviews
Lewis Wolpert, Jim Smith, ...

Oxford University Press, USA, 2006

An Excellent Textbook
Wolpert's developmental biology textbook is evidently an excellent text in its field. The authors are all well recognized in thier research areas. The organization of the text is also very well written. The summary of the concept presented at the end of each chapter is helpful. The figures presented througout the text are clear and the language used to explain them is simple but very ...

The latest from the Guru
This new book focuses tightly on one of Tom's big areas - Talent. How do you make the best people want to work for you? And how do you get the most out of them? And how do you improve yourself? Tom's very much in the Free Agent Nation camp, expecting all of us to be individual enteprenuers, even if we work for Big Inc. Tom Coens, Mary Jenkins

Berrett-Koehler Publishers, 2002

A Critical Step for a Performance-Driven Organization
This book becomes more relevant every year!
