The Quotable Lawyer (Quotable)1 review

The Lyons Press, 2002

An Enjoyable and Informative Collection
The book description above really captures the spirit of the book much better than I ever could. It has a quote for nearly every situation, idea and element concerning Law and contains each in a well-labeled chapter. I have purchased this book for three very different up and coming lawyers and each thoroughly enjoyed the gift.

The Quotable Dad1 review
Nick Lyons

Main Street, 2004

In Praise of Fatherhood
I received this book yesterday as a Father's Day present. It is both brief and profound, with quotations from a wide range of leaders and writers on fatherhood from Jimmy Carter and Bill Cosby to John Wayne and William Carlos Williams. I would strongly recommend it as a Father's Day gift in the future. I would also recommend it to men on the verge of becoming fathers, men who have just ...

The Writer's Legal Guide2 reviews
Tad Crawford, Tony Lyons

Allworth Press, 1996

The best legal guide for writers.
This is a terrific guide that tells writers at all levels what they need to know to avoid legal problems and negotiate successfully. It has the broadest coverage and is clearly written with many cases turned into fascinating and eduational anecdotes. I can't recommend it too highly.

Lonely Planet Southeast Asia on a Shoestring (Lonely Planet on a Shoestring Series)4 reviews
Chris Taylor, Peter Turner, ...

Lonely Planet, 1997

Don't buy this book !!!!
I travelled for about 45 days in Vietnam, Malalysia and Thailand with this book and found it completely unsatisfactory relative to the LP for the individual countries. Those books offer so much more in background information and tidbits that would help you plan your time wisely that I scrapped it while travelling and traded up for the country versions of the books. I had a big weight ...

Lonely Planet Bali & Lombok (7th ed)8 reviews
Paul Greenway, James Lyon, ...

Lonely Planet, 1999

Good Guide
I was so excited about my recent trip to Bali that I used 4 guidebooks. Lonely planet was one of the most useful - it pointed out the tourist traps as well as the great spots. Many of the recommendations are more suitable for backpackers than mid range travelers, but the maps are excellent and the coverage of the entire island is good. Bali will not be the most beautiful place you've ...

Abracadabra
Tony Fitzpatrick, Kimberly Lyons

Granary Books, 2000

Comprising her most recent poems and a selection of poems written from 1981-1991, Kimberly Lyons' Abracadabra brings us a poet with a striking and original voice. The work we find here gives a dreamlike view of the fractured cycles of birth and regeneration that mark our years, weeks, and hours. And Lyons' world is one where signs become objects and objects become signsUand her intent here is not so much to make sense of this world as to ...

Lonely Planet California and Nevada (Serial)3 reviews
James Lyon, Tony Wheeler, ...

Lonely Planet Publications, 1996

Lonely Planet has done it again!
Every Lonely Planet guide gives lots of tips for what to see, places to eat, and the "must-see" things when you travel. This guide explains the history of California and Nevada very well, and always has good suggestions of interesting places to visit. I am a native Californian, but I don't travel anywhere in the state without this guide.

Lonely Planet Publications, 2000

A huge timesaver
Just used this book for a two-week road trip through California. I also had a few other Cal guidebooks with me and this one was the best. It was well organized, in depth and consistently gave good recommendations.

The book features all edible species of mushroom, together with those with which they may be confused. Organized by habitat for easy reference, it is beautifully illustrated and includes the best ways to cook and eat the mushrooms you collect. Main species are illustrated in their relevant habitat, and key features are described in detail. Lookalikes are shown alongside the main species, and additional illustrations indicate how they differ. ...
