La Dolce Vita: Sweet Things from the Italian Home Kitchen (Mitchell Beazley Food)2 reviews
Ursula Ferrigno

MITCH, 2006

One of the best baking books
This is an amazing, luscious Italian baking book. It highlights traditional expected recipes and ones that are rarely known, most often used only in Italian home cooking. The results you get are ecstasy and there is not the overuse of sugar that is so often found in baking and sweets. The pictures are wonderful, I only wish each recipe had one. Basically, that is the only flaw with this book. The ...

Ultimate Bread27 reviews
Eric Treuille, Ursula Ferrigno

DK ADULT, 1998

Recipes easy to compare with each other
Most of these recipes are based on the same amount of flour (3.5 cups). So unlike most bread books, it is easy to compare two different breads, and understand how a different product results from variations in the other ingredients or the method. For example descriptions of soft, firm, sticky, doughs are hard to follow, but if the recipe lists more water than another for the same amount of ...

Risotto: 30 Simply Delicious Vegetarian Recipes from an Italian Kitchen2 reviews
Ursula Ferrigno

Ryland Peters & Small, 2001

Easy cooking, delicious meals!
This is a great book for someone wanting to try Italian cooking. I had never cooked risotto before, and now it's a regular part of meals at our house. The recipes are very easy to make, provided that you use ready-made vegetable stock. However, the recipe for home-made is also given. Photos are ilustrative and the food is delicious. Great book!

Gusto Italiano: Quick and Simple Vegetarian Cooking6 reviews
Ursula Ferrigno

Bay Books (CA), 2001

An excellent cookbook - and it's vegetarian!
What great recipes! And the hints and suggestions at the bottom of each recipe really add to the book. And the photography in this book is stunning - I've seen that word used too often, including in the description here on amazon.com, but it really does fit this book. And it IS a vegetarian cookbook. The reviewer who panned it for not being vegetarian needs to make the distinction between ...
