Underground Clinical Vignettes: Neurology, Classic Clinical Cases for USMLE Step 2 and Clerkship Review1 review
Vikas Bhushan, Tao Le, ...

Student to Student Medical Publishing, 1999

A must for USMLE Step 2
If you read this book it will definitely increase your USMLE Step 2 score. I would say if you can't afford to go through all the Underground series, just go through this book and Emergency Medicine book. You will be happy of your decision.

Blackwell's Underground Clinical Vignettes: Step 2 Bundle (Blackwell's Underground Clinical Vignettes)1 review
Vikas Bhushan

Blackwell Publishers, 2005

essential board review
I used the UCV series in preparing for Step 2 CK and I am convinced that it improved my result significantly. The material is presented in case study fashion with bolded keywords, discussion and a few questions. These books help you to remember key aspects of prototype cases similar to those found on the boards. They are also extremely short and easier to read than anything else I have ...

First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 19971 review
Vikas Bhushan, Tao Le, ...

Prentice Hall, 1996

Objective review and 24 hour companion
This book alone will not PASS you on the USMLE. It is for reviewing only, has objective reviews for all subjects on STEP I and STEP II, add your notes to it and carry it to the beach, park, bed, have it handy at all times! To me it's the medical students bible for the boards. I found at least 25% of questions on the boards were in this book. Now that is a fact.

Kaplan Q bank+ this book =all you need to pass and do well
I think the key to studying for the Step 1 is to restrict your studying materials. It's better to know everything in one book (THIS BOOK) than some of 5-6 books. So many questions from my USMLE came straight from this book that if you studied this and memorized every syllable, you will pass and pass well! Just supplement this with the Q bank to get yourself into question mode and you will be ...

THE BEST BOOKS WRITTEN
I found these books to be the best source for USMLE step 2 and step 3 exams. A lot of the cases were directly from these books. I scored extremely well in my exams and it was due to the detail, focused issues and the high-lighted aspects of this text that allowed me to score well. The books are highly recommeded. They do not have any MCQs but after reading these books inside and out you will ...

First Aid for the USMLE Step 1: 2005 (First Aid for the Usmle Step 1)14 reviews
Vikas Bhushan, Tao Le

McGraw-Hill/Appleton & Lange, 2004

An excellent book for review AFTER studying everything else
This review would apply best to FMGs who have finished medical school rather than medical students who are taking their Step 1 at the end of their second year. For the purposes of doing well on the USMLE step 1, this is a book that I would recommend reading only after one has studied the test material from other sources. In fact, this book contains a list of recommended review book for each ...

First Aid for the USMLE Step 2 CS (Clinical Skills Exam)25 reviews

McGraw-Hill Medical, 1899

The only book a US student needs for this exam
Of all the First Aid books I've used (Step 1, Step 2 CK, Wards), this is the only one that I'd use as stand-alone prep for the exam. I finally coughed up $45 for this book after trying unsuccessfully to figure out the basics of the exam from the info provided by USMLE (i.e. structure, timing, scoring, topics). It was completely worth it. Every case I had on the real exam was very, very familiar, ...

You need this book
Everyone I met said I needed this book to do well on Step I. And it turns out, I needed this book to do well on Step I. Buy this book. Memorize this book. This book is your key to success. That being said, I don't think you need to buy the latest and greatest edition. I took the exam in 2007 but used a 2005 version of the book, and I was fine.

Great book
I found this book highly useful for the usmle step 1. It summarized the topics in a reader friendly format. It helped me to study for the test without carrying so many textbooks around with me. I also recommend the following which is sold on amazon: Spinal Anatomy Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers ISBN: 0971999600 Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers ISBN: ...

Better if used near to the test date
When I first read this book It was not very useful `cause everything was new for me, but when I re read it after I finish to read my biochemistry review, It was amazing, It helped me to order all the knowledgment that I had in a better form, in a perfect style to be prepared for the ECFMG questions. I recommend it to everybody who is preparing for the USMLE or ECFMG. And also highly recommended ...

Helped me alot!
I used this book as well as several others (i'm guilty of buying TOO many books...)! This book very much helped me with the detail I needed to do very well in areas I didn't remember from Medical School. As a Pediatrics Resident, I highly recommend this book to fill in "the blanks" so to speak.

First Aid for the Wards: Insider Advice for the Clinical Years11 reviews
Tao Le, Vikas Bhushan, ...

McGraw-Hill/Appleton & Lange, 2002

Excellent intro for clinical years
What I liked best about this book was the sample SOAP/Admit/Orders that they give, plus all the crazy acronyms that they expect you to know. I found it really made me look like a superstar because I would write a "sample note" on an index card and carry it in my white coat. So when it came time for me to write notes, I didn't miss much. Every clerkship has their expectations for note writing ...

First Aid for the USMLE Step 1: 2004 (First Aid for the Usmle Step 1)10 reviews
Vikas Bhushan, Tao Le

McGraw-Hill/Appleton & Lange, 2003

A GREAT ONE
I usually dont like this format of books where everything is too dense and compressed but this book changed everything. The book contains a huge amount of high yield facts many of which i had on my exam. Very well organized with a great section in pharma' and pathology but kind of weak on physiology. I read it a couple of times during the months before the exam and in the last week it was my ...

Underground Clinical Vignettes for Step 1 (9 Book Set)2 reviews
Student to Student Medical Publishing, Vikas Bhushan, ...

Student to Student Medical Publishing, 1998

Mixed Bag
Though understanding clinical presentations is becoming increasingly important for Step 1, the clinical vignette style is not appropriate for all the subjects in this series. High yield subjects consistently tested from a clinical slant like Pathopysiology and Microbiology are the best books of this series. Pharmacology and Anataomy are the least useful books of this series. However, it may ...

A Must Have Resource for clinical rotations!
I love the fact that this book has just a few pages dedicated to each discipline which allows for it to be read rather quickly. It is perfect for those 10 minute periods of down time you frequently get on rotations. This book doesn't dawdle on the tiny details, but it focuses on the key points needed to succeed without leaving important information out. A must have for any 3rd or 4th year ...

Microbiology (Bhushan Underground Clinical Vignettes)3 reviews
Chirag Amin, Tao Le, ...

Student to Student Medical Publishing, 1998

Excellent review book
The Microbiology books are arguably the best books of the Underground Clinical Vignette series. Microbiology is very high yield on Step 1 and many questions are asked from a clinical standpoint. I highly recommend these books as a part of a final review before Step 1. It is a good way to learn the clinical presentations of the rare and exotic diseases that may otherwise be missed during review.

very very good
I took Step 2 recently, and this was my main review source along with Secrets. I just got my score, and it was above my step 1 by far. Cases are very relevant, much of the content was on the test, and it was well written. Interesting reading keeps you awake; better than its Step 1 cousin.

Vikas Bhushan, Tao Le, ...

Student to Student Medical Publishing, 1999

Good for USMLE 2 Review!
I initially bought this book for my Emergency Medicine Rotation. However, one of my question books suggested that I actually do a rotation in Emergency Medicine before I take Step 2. Because I have already scheduled my board exam before my emergency medicine rotation I figured that it would be helpful to review this book. And it was! This book gives you the initial step, next step, and ...

Blackwell Underground Clinical Vignettes Biochemistry1 review
Vikas Bhushan, Vishal Pall, ...

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2005

Nice book
Its a nice book and comprehesive it guides you and puts your feet more on the ground because all molecular thigns you learn has a clinical implication. i like the book even thought it only has less than 4 images and poor explications of cases, so read it with an internal medicine book for anythings to clarify
