Thomas's Christmas Delivery (A Sparkle Storybook)3 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2004

Beautiful!
This book has replaced "Thomas and the Shooting Star" (also illustrated by Tommy Stubbs) as the most beautifully illustrated Thomas book. The illustrations are so lifelike and have such depth to them they make "...Shooting Star" look blurry in comparison. The story is very nice as well. A great, feel-good christmas tale of how Thomas brings deliveries on christmas eve. I've been reading ...

Thomas & Friends: Calling All Engines (Pictureback(R))4 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2005

Trains, Trains, and More Trains - Calling All Engines!
I love these little Thomas books. For a minimal price you can add to your child's library and foster a love of reading. In this Thomas and Friends story, the Steamies and the Diesels learn that they need to get along if they are going to be `really useful engines'. Summer has come to Sodor along with an ambitious plan of construction. Pleased with the completion of the new Sodor ...

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2003

A Very Nice Thomas Adventure - a review of "Down at the Docks"
What fun! A big aquarium exhibit is coming to Tidmouth and the docks are hustling and bustling with activity. Cranky the Crane is unloading Bulstrode. Harvey is loading small crates of aquarium glass, while James and Salty are busy with their own tasks. The only problem is, Thomas wants to help and he keeps getting told that he is too small to be of assistance. Sad because he can't find a ...

Thomas and the Hide and Seek Animals (Thomas & Friends)4 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2007

Big hit!
This is a great visual discrimination book. In it, a new zoo is getting ready to open. James and Thomas take the animals to their new home, but many things go wrong: Edward has a bear eating all the fish, the monkeys in Thomas's coach are unlocking the gate to their cage, and Thomas runs out of water. Get this silly book today and write a review about it.

Henry the Green Engine5 reviews
Rev. W. Awdry

Heinemann Young Books, 1993

Just Lovely for Train Lovers
When my 3-yr old takes an interest in something, it usually becomes an all-out obsession: dinosaurs, construction vehicles, space and so it continues with Thomas the Tank Engine. We've read other books and rented videos, but these books (there are four in this series) are his beloved. The stories are simple and plentiful with a bit of a moral to them, without being pretentious or zealous. The ...

The Three Railway Engines3 reviews
The Rev. W. Awdry

Heinemann, 1993

Great for Train enthusiasts
The original installment of the "Thomas the Train" stories (alert--Thomas does not appear in this group of stories yet) introduces Edward, Gordon and Henry. My son adores these and we read them over and over. He studies the illustrations very intently and want to know every detail!

Wave Hello to Thomas! (Lift-and-Peek-a-Brd Books(TM))10 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1993

Simple book with nice pictures
Thomas is our 2-yr old son's favorite thing right now so we got him a new Thomas book. "Wave Hello to Thomas" is a very simple book with nice pictures and fun flaps. After just a few weeks he has memorized the book and will sit happily "reading" and lifting the flaps. He even takes the book to bed with him.

Makes air travel great!
My 3-year-old son listened to this cassette repeatedly with a walkman when we took a 4 hour flight. A stress-free flight courtesy of Thomas.

Edward the Blue Engine (Railway Series)4 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2003

Gotta love Edward!
Cow on the Line, Bertie's chase, Saved from Scrap, and Old Iron. We had most of these stories in the paperback version from the TV show, but my 3-year old loves his take-along-size Thomas books!

James Goes Buzz Buzz (Step into Reading)4 reviews
W. Rev Awdry, Shana Corey

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2004

Buzz, Buzz. Oh, poor James!
Just a Note: There is a mistake in the text. Poor Trevor is described as a "Tractor Engine". How ridiculous. Trevor is a "Traction" engine. Ok...I feel better now. LOL. In any case... we love these little books. Despite what the recommended age ranges suggest they a good for younger Thomas lovers as well. The drawings are colorful and the stories are fun and amusing; and as the previous ...

Thomas and Friends: On the Track... There and Back (Thomas & Friends)2 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2004

Thomas is So Busy, from Morning to Night
It's a quick `good morning Percy' and Thomas is off in this two-part story about his busy day. In the first part of the boardbook ("On the track...") Thomas scurries about with his coaches, Annie and Clarabel, until it is time to go to the quarry where he helps Mavis and Toby with some Troublesome Trucks. In the second book ("There and back again") Thomas is off to the mountains and down to ...

Thomas and the Big, Big Bridge (Little Golden Book)2 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Golden Books, 2003

Great book for young Thomas fans!
This is such a darling book. It's a big day for the railway - they've opened a new bridge in the mountains that is so high that "you can't even seen the valley below." Henry, Thomas and Gordon have been selected to take passengers up to the mountains. However, Henry is scared half to death to do it and by the time they get up there, he's convinced Thomas that he should be afraid too. Gordon ...

BREAFAST-TIME FOR THOMAS (Thomas the Tank Engine Mini-Storybooks)2 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1990

Breakfast-Time for Thomas
Both my sons (ages 1 & 3) love this book - it's their favorite bed-time story, with it's colorful illustration and fun/humorous storyline. They even pretend to read the story themselves, as they point to the egg on Thomas' nose & giggle. It's a delightful storybook for little ones.

Love the original.
I love that this is the original oldy-timey version of the Thomas stories. My son loves the illustrations. The size is easy to handle. There are about 3-4 stories per book.

Cow On the Line Book & CD (Book and CD)2 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2005

Adorable book -- 2-year-old boy loves listening to the CD
We purchased this to add to our ever-growing Thomas and Friends collection of books and audio files. One note: this version is narrated by Ringo Starr -- very cool, but don't be expecting the American version. The stories are adorable, narration is great. Using the CD should pose no problem -- just note that the CD's audio levels are a bit lower than the American versions we have of other ...

Great Stories
My whole family are big fans of Thomas the Tank Engine stories. They teach very good life lessons and are very entertaining. My 3 yr old loves to follow along in the book. It is a good tool for learning to read. Can't wait to buy more of these stories on CD.

Percy's Chocolate Crunch Book & CD (Book and CD)2 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 2005

Percy, Salty and more!
Buy Percy's Chocolate Crunch with the Cassette! It is a bit more expensive than *just* the book but it is also more fun for kids. My 3-year-old (and his 5 y.o. sister) listens to these over and over while he plays with his buddies. Narrated by Alec Baldwin (one of the narrators of the television series) Sir Topham Hatt's crew comes alive. The first story is about Percy's misadventures ...
