Play It! 2 reviews Wayne Rice, Mike Yaconelli
Zondervan/Youth Specialties, 2000
Best Game Book I Have Found! My wife and I work with the youth in our church. We can't begin to tell you how great this book is and how often we use it. Not only for our youth, but our family and friends love to play so many of these games, too! The book is divided into different categories: Outdoor, indoor, small group, large group, mixers, etc. The directions to each game are easy to understand and have diagrams ...

Hot Illustrations for Youth Talks 4 1 review Wayne Rice
Zondervan/Youth Specialties, 2001
Not Just for Youth Groups Anymore The students in my high school English classes love the stories in this book. I use the stories to introduce a piece of literature or to reinforce literature read. Not only do the students enjoy it, but they are also subtly receiving character/moral/values lessons without even realizing it. I would highly recommend this book for both those who work with teens in either a Christian or secular ...

Junior High Ministry 2 reviews Wayne Rice
Zondervan/Youth Specialties, 1998
Well-Rounded Look at Junior High Ministry Wayne Rice encompasses many perspectives and areas of junior high ministry. The physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and faith areas of development within a junior higher were discussed for a more complete understanding of their changing world. It was very informative and the book made some exceedingly good points that should be remembered when working with this age group. It is a ...

Hot Illustrations for Youth Talks 3 reviews Wayne Rice
Zondervan/Youth Specialties, 1994
Helpful Book For Sermon Presentation Wayne Rice offers several great illustrations to help you explain Biblical truths. The illustrations in this volume are practical and can be used with youth or adults. I have used several of the illustrations in my own sermons to both groups and the response is great! The book will help you to find application and meaning to drive home the points of your sermons.

God's Word for Students (God's Word Series) 3 reviews
World Publishing, 1995
Gets Youth Closer to God The first thing a teenager sees when they look at a Bible is how long and boring it is. Actually, that is not true. I once thought the same thing until I bought the God's Word for Students Bible. This book inspires a close relationship with God by including 365 devotionals (one for everyday of the year). When I got the Bible and began to do the devotions, I found myself trusting Jesus more ...

More Hot Illustrations for Youth Talks 2 reviews Wayne Rice
Zondervan/Youth Specialties, 1996
Not just for youth talks! I've been a firm believer in this series of books since the first one. This is the sequel (followed by "Still More Hot Illustrations...") and it's still great! Each subject is indexed in the back so you can find a good illustration for what you're looking for (though some major teen topics are skipped, such as loneliness, etc.). All in all, a great book and one that I've used on more than ...

Still More Hot Illustrations for Youth Talks 2 reviews Wayne Rice
Zondervan/Youth Specialties, 1999
Still waiting for Rice to write something I can't use. I'm happy to say that I've never been disappointed with anything I've read by Wayne Rice, and he's keeping his record with me intact here. Lots of good ideas. Of course, not everything works for every group, the large group games I'm sure are good, but I'll have to wait till camp this summer to try them out. Overall, another great resource for youth leaders.

Play It Again!: More Great Games for Groups 2 reviews Wayne Rice
Zondervan, 1993
One of the best resources for group play I've ever read. As an activity director for a camping and cottage resort, I found this book to feature one crowd pleaser after another. Not only are the activities enticing, the format (activities grouped for large and small groups as well as indoor and outdoor play) is particuarly user-friendly. A great buy and a great sequel to Play It!

Understanding Your Teenager 1 review Wayne Rice
Thomas Nelson, 1999
Incredible Insight From an Expert As the daughter of Dave Veerman, I am writing to verify all that is said in this book. My father understands me more than anyone else I know. He was my closest friend throughout my teenage years and he still is today. The advice he and Wayne Rice gives is practical and really works! My dad and I's relationship is proof that you really can begin to understand your teenager.

Enjoy Your Middle Schooler 2 reviews Wayne Rice
Zondervan Publishing Company, 1994
I found just what I was looking for in this book! I was stressed when my 10 1/2 year old started in the the next stage of (pre)teenager. I did not have a real enjoyable time my self at that age. This book really helps a parent to relate and be reminded of what they are going through at that age. As a parent I am now able to see her for the stage she is going through, and be more compasionate, and not reactive. This book is very helpful. ...
