Chicago Tribune Sunday Crossword Puzzles, Volume 5 (Chicago Tribune)1 review
Wayne Robert Williams

Random House Puzzles & Games, 2006

More doable than the NYTimes puzzles, but not easy
I'm a little obsessed with crossword puzzles, and this series of Sunday tribune puzzles is excellent, I have found, for my skill level. I don't finish very many of them, but I feel like I COULD do it, if I really tried. Ha. That's probably the way it's supposed to be, I suspect. When I try to do the NYTimes Sunday puzzles, I don't feel like there's must hope for me. The Tribune puzzles ...

The Thunder of Angels: The Montgomery Bus Boycott and the People Who Broke the Back of Jim Crow10 reviews
Donnie Williams, Wayne Greenhaw

Lawrence Hill Books, 2007

The inspiring story of E.D. Nixon and the Montgomery Bus Boycott
Although it is pretty early in the new year I suspect that "The Thunder of Angels" just might be one of the best books I will read in 2006. Donnie Williams and Wayne Greenhaw have the uncanny knack of transporting the reader right back into the middle of the historic events that were taking place in Montgomery, Al back in 1955 and 1956. More importantly, the authors introduce us to E.D.Nixon, ...

Chicago Tribune Crosswords
There are many things to miss while living abroad, but -- for me -- the biggest one is my Sunday crossword puzzle. Luckily there are several volumes of Chicago Tribune Sunday Crosswords. The Trib Sunday crossword is a perfect difficulty level for travelling, a good challenge, but not as difficult as the New York Times Sunday puzzle.

First class for my MBA
I have ordered from Amazon several times for my college books, and they have always been sent in plenty of time for my classes. This is my first class for my MBA, and the book was ordered early so have not had a chance to use it yet. It came unharmed, and in perfect condition. Thanks.

Quizzles2 reviews

Dale Seymour Publications, 1982

fun puzzles
This quizzels are so much fun. Once you get started you can't stop. My teacher introduced them to me in the quest program. I asked the name of them and she told me where I could find them. All of the quizzels are like little mysteries. They start of pretty easy but then get really hard. I think that these quizzle are amazingly fun. Wayne Williams sure did a good job creating them.

Lockhart's Nightmare3 reviews
Wayne Barton, Stan Williams

Forge, 1998

As good or better than Fairchild's Passage.
A mystery-adventure set in the waning days of the old west, it has 350 pages, I wish it could have been more, James Lockhart trying to clear his name after being falsely accused of stealing the bank notes that he sells plus murder, with his traveling companion Marian Taylor who is accused of being an accomplice, they travel mostly by train with one air trip and several buggy rides from Sacramento ...

logic puzzles: a great teaching tool
I teach math at the middle school level and getting students to read thoroughly and understand word problems is a challenge. More Quizzles and its predecessor Quizzles teach students to pick apart and examine the math hidden in language. There is a wide range of difficulty in puzzles, but with practice, even the most difficult are managable. I do find, however, that I must do the puzzle ...

The Crap Old Days
Wayne Williams, Darren Allan

Prion Books Ltd, 2008

Do you have fond memories of Knight Rider, Etch-a-Sketch or Raleigh Choppers? You wouldn't be alone. Books, broadcasters and newspapers have fed us a constant diet of why the good old days were so fabulous. They've made a warm, thick treacle of the past which we've bathed in for too long. This book finally pulls the plug on all that. "The Crap Old Days" is a savagely funny recollection of how things really were: Tiny Tears was a washout, the ...
