Graphic Standards Details: Openings8 reviews

Wiley, 2005

Extremely Useful Details and Format
Graphic Standards should quickly produce more titles in this series. The details are clearly drawn and extremely useful in this format. You get full-color photo examples and comprehensive technical data attached to each system (inlcuding plans, 3D diagrams, etc). A fair comparison would be with the German publication 'Details' which is published monthly (and in larger volumes as well); except ...

Real Life Drama3 reviews
Wendy Smith

Grove Press, 1994

An essential history of the century's most important theatre
A great book. It details one of the most important theater companies to ever come out of the United States. The stories are rich(as in the once in a lifetime story of the audience's response to Waiting for Lefty) and the background thoroughly researched. As a member of a young, struggling theater company it gave me inspiration and comfort the way great history should. I wish she would write ...

The Metropolitan Bakery Cookbook6 reviews
James Barrett, Wendy Smith Born

Rodale Books, 2003

Recipes are guides not law
I have to respond given Ms. Bassoff's disappointment. Recipes are not to be followed exactly, they give an idea of what ingredients are used. Also, some of these recipes are the ones that were original versions of what is now sold. Beside the fact that I live a couple of blocks from the Rittenhouse Square Metropolitan and can actually buy the products there (or any of the other Philly ...

Bats of the Rocky Mountain West: Natural History, Ecology, and Conservation
Rick A. Adams

University Press of Colorado, 2004

Secret Agents (Backyardigans)5 reviews

Spotlight, 2007

Backyardigans Fan
We bought this when we could not find a single Backyardigans book in out Library, not one title. My five-year-old son wants to read it every night. It is a nice adaptation of our favorite series, bright and simple illustrations, our favorite characters, and as always, a great adventure. I like the price, too, a very affordable book.

This is great
This is a truely fantastic book, my family just love it. It is a special favourite at bedtimes. It is well written and interesting - not just one of those books that just drone on and on, I enjoy re-reading it just as if it was the first time.

Red Fox at Hickory Lane (Smithsonian's Backyard) (Smithsonian's Backyard)1 review
Kathleen M. Hollenbeck

Soundprints, 2004

A Nice Introductory Book About Foxes
This book is a nice account of a red fox family that lives behind a yellow house at Hickory Lane. It follows the family of foxes from the time when the kits are ready to play outside the den and discusses how in autumn they will leave their parents to survive on their own. This book is a nice change of pace from a mother fox story. Though it talks about the vixen caring for the kits, it focuses ...
