This is an excellent book!
This book is really impressive. When two baby pygmy marmosets get seperated from their father, Diego and his papi take an adventure together in order to find them and bring them home. I really like the ending of the book. It was the best book I've ever seen. It's really impressive.

Secret Agents (Backyardigans (8x8))5 reviews

Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon, 2006

Backyardigans Fan
We bought this when we could not find a single Backyardigans book in out Library, not one title. My five-year-old son wants to read it every night. It is a nice adaptation of our favorite series, bright and simple illustrations, our favorite characters, and as always, a great adventure. I like the price, too, a very affordable book.

Piggley Makes a Pie (Ready-to-Read. Level 1)1 review

Simon Spotlight, 2006

Well-worn and much loved book at our house!
My two-year old loves this book--she calls it 'Piggleywinks Pie' and requests it often. I like it because several of the words show up in the text with little pictures, which is a great device to teach reading. I trace each line as I read it aloud to her, so she can see that when I say the word 'pie' it corresponds to the picture of a pie and the word 'pie' underneath. This story/plot is funny ...

Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon, 2006

Mission To Mars-Backyardigans
My daughter loved the episode and loves the book. She goes around the house saying "Boinga, boinga" all time. And when we read the book we sing "We're going to Mars" along with it.

Sesame Street Guess Who? Elmo3 reviews
Wendy Wax, Ernie Kwiat

Reader's Digest, 2007

Great Fun!
My 2-year old son LOVES Sesame Street and he loves this book. Elmo, Zoe, Oscar, Cookie Monster and Big Bird are all "hiding" and when you open the flap, they appear. This book brings smiles and laughs to my little one all day long. In fact, I have had to buy a 2nd copy because the 1st copy is so worn and torn!

Picnic Day! (Lazytown Ready-to-Read)2 reviews
Wendy Wax, Artful Doodlers

Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon, 2006

Great Story about eating well
My 5 year old is a picky eater. He loved the book about food and choices we make. It has helped with his food choices if I remind him about the characters and what good food is and why our bodies need it.

Follow That Bird! (Dora the Explorer)1 review
Wendy Wax

Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon, 2005

Cute Board Book
My 18 month old daughter loves Dora so when I saw this for 2.00 today while shopping, I bought it. It's not one of my favorites, but then again, it's not for me and my daughter loves it. Not to mention, my daughter got to the page where the backpack is and she pointed to it and said ba pa (backpack). It's the first time she said that so I was happy to hear that this book got another new word ...

Phonics Comics: Clara the Klutz - Level 2 (Phonics Comics)1 review
Wendy Wax

Innovative Kids, 2007

Comics first grades can read easily
This charming story is beautifully illustrated, entertaining, and readable! My first grader loves these books. The detailed pictures and "sound it out" words allow her to read by herself. She loves other comic books, but has only been able to look through them. Phonic Comics are reading level appropriate in content and text. The print is large enough and well organized. The story is linear ...

Renoir and the Boy with the Long Hair4 reviews
Wendy Wax

Barron's Educational Series, 2007

The Perfect Book
This is the perfect book to spark a child's interest in art. I read it to my sons (ages 5 and 7) and they had fun picking out their favorite Renoir paintings. Then they wanted to go to the museum so they could look for Renoir paintings. (This made me happy!) My older son identified with Jean (Renoir's son), who wanted to be more like the other kids, but more importantly, he admired Renoir ...

A Royal Valentine (Backyardigans Ready-to-Read)1 review
Wendy Wax

Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon, 2005

Ok
The Backyardigans have great books for kids learning how to read. My children both love the Backyardigans phonics box set. Both were given as 6th birthday presents. This one just doesn't have tremendous appeal. However, it could be that it is at a level that is too easy for my son. However, that isn't the case for my daughter (2.5 years) who also just hasn't picked it up much.
