Kenneth W. Whitten, Raymond E. Davis, ...

Harcourt, 1999

Finally a chemistry book worth having!
I have a B.S. in Chemistry and tutor it at our local junior college where this book is the one being used for the course. I have never found a general chem book good enough to keep until now. The text and examples are very clear and easy to follow and understand. The pictures and sections on chemistry in the real world are enlightening. I was so impressed with this book that I actually ...

Extremely Helpful Text
This text is great! I hardly ever went to class and rarely paid attention, but I read all the corresponding chapters and they are SO CLEAR that you understand everything perfectly. I made the HIGHEST GRADE in my chemistry 102 class and set the curve in lab, all thanks to this book and it's crystal clear explanations. The examples in the text are super helplful. Also, you should buy the ...

Standard and Microscale Experiments in General Chemistry1 review
Carl B. Bishop, Muriel B. Bishop, ...

Brooks Cole, 2003

Nice lab mannual, lot experiments
this manual is highly recommended if you bought Whitten's General Chemistry text,by the way, that's really a nice textbook. This manual is also very good. Lot of experiments organized in to many categories. But i think it will be better if it has more information on the lab instruments.

Awesome General Chemistry Book
Learning Chem is like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. When I studied, my main source of knowledge was from the text books. Unfortunately, I didn't have this book when I took General Chem. After reading this book, I realized that many authors(at least 3 of my other general chem books I own) don't emphasize on Atoms and Light(as in Ch6) much less know how to explain the topic. More over, they ...

A Qualitative Analysis Supplement, Eighth Edition1 review
Kenneth W. Whitten, Raymond E. Davis, ...

Brooks Cole, 2006

Misleading title!
Chemistry, Eighth Edition [Hardcover] by Whitten, Kenneth W.; Davis, Raymond E is what appears in the text next to this picture, but the picture AND the product that's shipped to you is actually a supplemental book, which is not hardcover and definitely not Chemistry, Eighth Edition. I thought I was getting a good deal on an expensive book but it turns out I just wasted money buying the answers ...
