Mysteries of the Moonsea (Dungeons & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying, Forgotten Realms Supplement)9 reviews
Thomas Reid, Sean Reynolds, ...

Wizards of the Coast, 2006

An excellent resource for DMs
This book is different from most of the other supplements that Wizards of the Coast has released, and I have to say that it was a very refreshing change of pace. The best way to categorize this book would be to say that it's halfway between a regional sourcebook and a campaign module. Unlike the other regional books, it doesn't contain a random hodgepodge of information about NPCs, locations, ...

Midnight: Epic Fantasy in an Age of Shadow [d20 system]11 reviews
Jeffrey Barber, Wil Upchurch

Fantasy Flight Games, 2003

Great campaign setting
Having actively DMed with many campaign worlds over the past 25 years I have to say that the Midnight setting is the best, most well-thought out world to be released in many years. How to describe it to the uninitiated? Think of it as a "what if" Middle Earth setting where Sauron wins, and the world is all but conquered. The authors unashamedly took that core concept and built an amazing, dark ...

Ultimate Adversaries (Star Wars Roleplaying Game: Rules Supplements)1 review
Eric Cagle, Michelle Lyons, ...

Wizards of the Coast, 2004

Rounding out the GM's toolbox
Ultimate Adversaries is primarily a tool for the Gamemaster. I also like to think of it as the companion piece to the Galactic Campaign Guide. Where the latter book focused on the planning and development side of running a campaign, Ultimate Adversaries gives the GM a variety of the actual villains and creatures that might inhabit the setting. Chapter One: Villains begins with detailed ...

Champions of Ruin (Dungeon & Dragons d20 3.5 Fantasy Roleplaying, Forgotten Realms Setting)3 reviews
Jeff Crook, Wil Upchurch, ...

Wizards of the Coast, 2005

Evil on Faerun just got smarter, meaner and stronger
Champions of Ruin is Wizard's newest book in the Forgotten Realms product line. The contents of the book can be combined perfectly with the info found in Lords of Darkness, and the book is also the - dark - twin of Champions of Valor, a sourcebook Wizard's will publish at the end of this year. The book is nicely edited, and - as usual with Forgotten Realms products - beautifully illustrated. ...

GURPS Space Fourth Edition (GURPS: Generic Universal Role Playing System)4 reviews
Jon Zeigler

Steve Jackson Games, 2006

Great!
This book is great! It covers all about space campaigns, at any detail level you want. Worlds, Star maps, Races and etc. The book is beautiful, too! It just don`t go deeper into building starships, but I think I know why. That is much more about engeneering and I bet SJG will soon release the Vehicle Builder in its 4th edition to help in this matter. Great book!

Dark Inheritance (d20 Fantasy Roleplaying, Modern Era)1 review
Sam Witt, Wil Upchurch, ...

Excelsior Games, 2003

Great take on d20 modern
This review is coming from a veteran rpg'er. This supplement campaign world to Wizards' D20 Modern core rules is great. It gives complete, balanced rules for playing characters that are like their human brothers, but have a genetic link to the gods of the past. Not only are new regular/prestige/advanced classes, new feats, new occupations, new items, etc etc etc given, powers of the titans(the ...

Cities Of Fantasy: Skraag - City Of Orcs (Cities of Fantasy)1 review
Wil Upchurch, Ralph Horsley

Mongoose Publishing, 2002

Mediocre and unimaginative
The summary: Skraag is a rotting dump of a "city" buillt atop a much older dwarvern setlement and inhabited by 25,000 orcs, hobgoblins, and goblins. Several decades ago, the Orc hordes decimated the dwaven inhabitants and now rule the city. One cunning Orc chief governs the city and serves as the "mayor". Another clever Orc chief commands the standing garrison that protects the city. There is ...
