"For Maggie's Sake" by Lora Leigh
The third Tempting SEALs is a novella, "For Maggie's Sake". The Importance of Being Earnest
This has always been a favorite of mine since I first experienced it in high school. I now use this version in the British Literature Class I teach at that level. It includes a glossary, divided by Act, in the back, too. I tell my students this is the original sitcom, and they actually have to get out of their chairs and "act it out" as we read. They love the puns and the sniping comments ...

Very comprehensive, easy to understand
I found this book to be extremely helpful both for my own fearful dog, and for my clients. It is very comprehensive, covering many types of fear and fearful situations that someone may encounter with their dog. Many of the topics she covers I have not seen covered in other books out there. Even if your dog only has slight fear issues or none at all, this book will be very helpful. The ...

Engaging story
What a poignant romantic book. I adore stories where lovers get back together and this one really hit the spot. It had lots of great suspense too. I was excited to discover it was part of a series.

Hot Stuff is Hot Stuff
What a wonderful book. I read the reviews here before purchasing and my only reservation was with the "sarcastic" humor in the book. Actually, it is the humor that makes this book work. It was the bait that got my son hooked on the book. I bought this for my 8 year-old son. He started to read it immediately. The book is a book and a workbook where you do some introspection. When he saw there ...

The Elliott Smith that we will never know....
Elliott Smith was perhaps the greatest Indie singer/songwriter of his generation. His unresolved murder/suicide at the age of 34 in 2003 catapulted him into iconic status. It abruptly ended a career that had begun to take off. Autumn DeWilde shared a personal friendship as well as a professional working relationship with Smith, released Elliott Smith, which is basically a series of intimate ...

"Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter"-Oscar Wilde
Basil Hallward is an artist, who paints a portrait of Dorian Gray, a very good looking and naïve young man. The portrait is a masterpiece that in reality depicts Basil's feelings for Dorian, as well as, Dorian's youth and beauty. Lord Henry Wotton, a seductive emotional predator and selfish pleasure seeker, is a friend of Basil who meets Dorian at Basil's house and gives him a philosophical ...

Brilliantly Funny
This book has remained one of my favorites since reading it in high school ~5 years ago. I have re-read it multiple times, seen it live & as a movie, and never seem to tire of Wilde's excellent knack for satire. It is a quick & fun read full of irony and hilariously awkward situations. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys play-format comedies with strong irony.

Unparalleled Wit & Wisdom
"I can resist everything except temptation." "There is no sin except stupidity." "It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearances." "It is always with the best intentions that the worst work is done." These laconic aphorisms are just the tip of the iceberg of Wilde's impressive, yet oftentimes eclectic and nihilistic, use of the English language. Dover gives us 60 pages of brilliant ...

A fiber lover's book!
I admire both fiber artist Gina Wilde and Potter books - and a combination of these two make for a wonderful book on shibori technique. I gained a wonderful insight into the shibori process from this book, along w. design ideas. There are very good examples of what yarns to use and the how's to do it. There's a range of projects presented - not all to my liking but they are wonderful for the ...

We CAN know more than most doctors!
This book is magnificent. It is easy to understand because it is not exclusively directed towards scientists. It provides detailed descriptions about new research that most doctors are not aware about yet as they are caught up in traditional methods to treat heart disease. It empowers those concerned about their cardiovascular health as it provides clear ways to avoid important risk factors. ...

If you love Wilde, you MUST own this book!
Though the print is small for those of us over 40, it's worth it - if not, it would weigh about 10 pounds! As it is, it's a tome, but worth reading, and re-reading time and again. It has everything - everything! - that you'll ever hear mentioned - his stories, his novels, his essay's. It would make a great gift for a young writer, as well.

How to establish and then sustain results-driven learning
An organization's chief learning officer or equivalent must be prepared to answer questions such as these: What is the ROI of our learning and development programs? How do you determine that? If the ROI is unacceptable, what is being done to increase it? My guess (only a guess) is that similar questions are also asked of those who lead innovation initiatives. The fact remains that in ...

Ah ha!
I was so impressed with this little book that I bought copies for several friends. Stuart's definitely "out there" but if you're able to trust your gut and suspend your preconceptions and conditioning, then the straight-to-the-point, no-fuss statements and action plans are fantastic. I've read many more garrulous books along similar lines but got much more out of the 52-page "Miracles", ...

Oscar Wilde is a Genius
After reading some of the contemporary reviews of this book, I was more than a little curious to see how awful this book really was. I was skeptical that it could be bad, because I'm very familiar with the wit of Wilde. As far as gothic novels go, this book ranks high in the Victorian era. Looking back from a historical perspective, I can see why the critics of the time disliked it. But from ...

"I Hate It When Everyone Agrees With Me, For Then I Must Consider That I Might Be Wrong"
The title says it all. This is THEE complete works of Ireland's gift to Victorian London. Wilde's plays, essays, poems, his sole novel, The Picture of Dorian Grey, and his last bitter work, De Profundus, (From The Depths) a letter to his lover and betrayer, Lord Alfred Douglas, is re-printed as well. For the price, it's the best way to add this celebrated, tragic wit to your library.

Disturbing- yet good
This book was difficult to read at first. I accept that the great ones always take a while to hook you as they build the characters. It has been a while since I read this book and yet much of it is fresh in my mind. Not a beach read. It's too deep. A story like no other I have ever read.
