I'm amazed over The Maze!
Will Hobbs does and excellent job in writing the book, The Maze. He fully explains everything and is very detailed. It is an extremely interesting adventure story with a superb storyline. The fiction in this book makes you think it actually happened. Overall, I think it was one of the best books that I have read since I learned to read! It could easily be yours too. In this book, a 14 year old ...

Great Read!!!
I bought this book to use in a literature unit with two 8th-grade homeschoolers, one an avid reader, and the other a very reluctant reader. The book was a hit with both! The reluctant reader even started reading ahead on his own because he wanted to find out how the story turned out. The story stimulated some great discussions on literary technique (foreshadowing, cliffhangers), social and ...

Crossing the Wire5 reviews
Will Hobbs

HarperTrophy, 2007

Loved it
As an author, I was freaking out about how timely this book was, given all the talk of illegal immigration, etc. Then I read it, and was even more impressed. This is a terrific book, far more interesting than a lot of news stories I've read on the topic, from a master of the genre. I fear it won't get the attention it deserves, solely because it's a YA book.

great adventure, and educational in the bargain
I read this book intending only to skim it. I could not put it down. The plotting is tight and the writing so descriptive that I actually felt like I was there. I could see, hear and smell the environment like I was sitting in its midst. I felt Andy's fear in the many situations that pitted his strength and intelligence against implacable, impersonal nature, his compassion for the dog and the ...

River Thunder1 review

Recorded Books Inc, 1998

Entertaining for all ages
I checked River Thunder out from the library, not realizing it was a "young adult" book. Despite being twenty years older than the intended audience, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. River Thunder follows the summer adventure camp follies of Jessie who is struggling to get along with her father. She finds herself in the woods of Colorado with a group of semi-delinquents sent to ...

Jackie's wild seattle book review by:Taylor
Book Review The book Jackie's Wild Seattle is exciting and propelling. All though the story has some parts that get off subject, the characters are very well thought up. Each character faces a disadvantage or problem. Shannon the main character is always worrying about her parents and the danger they're in. Cody, her brother is obsessed with disasters and is afraid he might have caused the ...

The Big Wander4 reviews

Aladdin, 2004

A great way to spend time with a youngster!
The Big Wander is a humorous, thoughtful trip through the American southwest amidst the tumultuous 60's. If that era wasn't enough to fuel the author's creative palette, our hero, Clay, is euphorically approaching adolescent replete with starry eyed infatuation and an all-to-well-remembered awkwardness in his approach to young ladies. The novel sets out as an summer adventure ("The Wander") for ...

If you like the outdoors, then you will love Beardance. The book takes place in the wilderness of Colorado. The Weminuche Wilderness. When I was reading this book, I was sad, fascinated and surprised. The book had some gory parts in it, that is what made it surprising. Some parts in the book made me fill like I was actually there in the wild with the grizzly bears. The characters remind me ...
