THIS ONE NEEDS TO BE IN YOUR COLLECTION
Excellent, first had observations made by a common private in during the Civil War. The author IS NOT a professional writer. This makes it all the more valuable. The author is not writing the book to entertain, or to pass along old, gory war stories. This is a story by a simple man trying to tell us his point of view, simple as that. This account is quite valuable to anyone interested in the ...

The Perfect Cookbook
The receipes are for 1 person, the ingredients can all be purchased at my local grocery store, the cooking methods are straightforward, and the dozen or so recipes I've tried so far have taken no more than 15 minutes to assemble and 30 - 45 minutes to cook (the Chocolate Pudding takes 10 minutes start to finish). But what I really love is the taste of the results - full of flavor and out of the ...

Excellent
Every time I went into Williams-Sonoma I picked up this book. I continued to put it down and leave the store. Finally, down to its last copy, I had to make the purchase. Indeed, it is worth every penny and I now wondered what ever made me wait. The recipes in this book are fantastic. Every bit Californian, the recipes feature bold, bright and vivid pictures of the succulent food. One ...

I lived in San Francisco for several years and had to privledge to become familiar with the city's fantastic cuisine. This book is part of the Williams-Sonoma series focusing on cities with unique culinary traditions and letting the reader get to know both the city and the local food. San Francisco is more than just a cookbook. The introduction provides an overview of the city and the ...

I found these lectures excellent. Conviser has a really good voice, a way of speaking that keeps you awake, a sense of humor, and really guides you along the rails to preparation for the Bar exam.

Wiggins is a smashing editor.
Since Amazon.com can't be bothered to list the contents of all the books, I thought I'd be helpful: this book contains The Maid's Tragedy (Beaumont and Fletcher), The Maiden's Tragedy (Middleton), The Tragedy of Valentinian, and The Insatiate Countess (from a draft by Marston).

A very good analytical survey of recent work
...Undeterred, I nevertheless wish to recommend it. It should, in fact, be in every university library at least, and most scholars would benefit greatly from reading it. I have myself bought a copy, and am very pleased with it. The contributors are on the whole very much in the forefront of Shakespeare scholarship, and write about their subject with great authority and acumen. Each scholar ...

Travel through American kitchens!
This book is really nice, even if you don't cook (but I think you will be trying, if you have a look at the pictures), it gives plenty of information on the land and people and, obviously, on what they eat. It has an interesting introduction on the land and then it is divided into several chapters on appetizers and snacks, main courses, side dishes and desserts and each recipe is gorgeously ...

A very important caveat
Instead of reviewing this item, which I cannot do yet not having gone through it thoroughly, I will just offer a very important warning: this book is from 1996 and quite a lot of important things have occurred in federal jurisdiction jurisprudence since then. Not the least of which are cases like Allapattah (2005), Saudi (2005, dealing with Rooker-Feldman), and dozens of Circuit and District ...

Shakespeare's Final Play
This was an appropriate conclusion to Shakespeare's career. Not only are the characters such as Henry VIII, Cranmer, and Wolsey convincing, but the poetry and images are beautiful. In addition, through the fall of several characters such as Wolsey, we can see reflections of Shakespeare himself as he wrote his 37th and final play. It is also poetically appropriate that one of the greatest ...

good basic book

Good Beginner Text
This book is a good beginner textbook for both Ophthalmology and Neurology residents. It leaves some questions to be answered for those interested in more detail. However, this is what the book is intended for. It is after all a companion book to the full series.

A short book with some very nice recipes
The number of recipes won't overwhelm you, but maybe that's a good thing. I found a half-dozen recipes here that I really liked, and several quick, easy ones that I now make frequently; that's a pretty good ROI for your cookbook dollar. The book also boasts the usual W-S glossy photos of every entree, which while they don't quite make this a coffee table book, do give you a good idea of what ...

Straightforward text for a Sunday School class on caring for our neighbors
It is a Sunday School book, pg 14, designed to be used to teach adults how to be sensitive to and caring for their neighbors, thus illustrating the "bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the Law of Christ" Gal 6:2, quoted at the end of the preface. It is not a difficult read but is meant to encourage and patiently teach adults without using unusually theological terms or trying to motivate ...

A mystery of the greatest import. Read it and weep
The reader above wants to know if there has been a refuation of the case Hamiltom makes in this book. The fact that it's in Shakesperae's writing cannot be refuted, but the fact that it's a Shakespeare play can, for the simple reason that until the handwriting was revealed to be what it quite clearly is, no one suspected Shakespeare as the author, and nearly everyone had it pegged sa Middleton ...

The only recording and fortunately a good one from Arkangel
The Arkangel Shakespeare series being issued by Penguin Audio is now halfway through the plays and the surprise is that was given preference to the remaining more familiar works. Co-authored by Shakespeare and Fletcher, this play remains an odd man out for several reasons. Based fairly closely on the "Knight's Tale" from Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales," it tells of two cousins, who just after ...
