A new guitar players savior...
An educational book that's been in print since 1971 has gotta be good. This book basically taught me how to play guitar. I learned all of my chords and such from it. It's laid out very clearly with both diagrams and photos to show you how to make each chord. Definitely get this one.

Excellent for beginers - must know to read music
The book is written for beginners who want to learn about jazz. One thing I disagree with the book is the title. It could never be a Complete jaz clarinet book, but surely it is an excellent start to jazz clarinet.
I would recommend the book to everybody who wants to learn technics of quality jazz clarinet.

Good basic reference
This book turned out to be just what my daughter needed. She is 10 and just starting to learn some chords. This book is simple and easy to understand without alot of extra information. She can take it with her. I recommend this book for a child or teenager just getting started.

Excellent followup
This is an excellent follow up to the first book in the Mel Bay series. It is well worth to buy the expanded edition rather than the standard edition of the book. Not only do you get more content, including several excellent practice and warm-up exercises, the spiral binding holds up to lots of wear. The only thing that would make it better would be if it came with the CD.
